Air Canada has over 50 partner airlines worldwide, both inside and outside the Star Alliance. Among those Aeroplan partners is fellow Star Alliance member Singapore Airlines, which boasts some of the best first- and business-class products in the sky.
Better yet, you can use Air Canada Aeroplan points to book these seats. Availability used to be much better than that of other Star Alliance loyalty programs, and pricing was more attractive than Singapore Airlines' own KrisFlyer program. However, several of our favorite redemptions are now next to impossible to find.
Still, Aeroplan is one of the best programs for booking Singapore Airlines awards. Here's what's still available.

Aeroplan's Singapore Airlines Award Space
Historically, Singapore Airlines has been relatively stingy about releasing premium cabin award space to partner airlines. The fact that Aeroplan even has access to a handful of these award seats should be a cause for celebration.

Out of the seven routes Singapore Airlines operates to the U.S., four are available through Aeroplan. However, we are only finding premium cabin availability on one route:
- New York (JFK) to Frankfurt (FRA): 35,000 Aeroplan points in economy and 60,000 Aeroplan points in business class
- Los Angeles (LAX) to Singapore (SIN): Economy awards available for 60,000 Aeroplan points each way
- San Francisco (SFO) to Singapore (SIN): Economy awards available for 60,000 Aeroplan points each way
- Seattle (SEA) to Singapore (SIN): Economy awards available for 60,000 Aeroplan points each way
- New York (JFK) to Singapore (SIN): No availability found via Aeroplan
- New York (EWR) to Singapore (SIN): No availability found via Aeroplan
- Los Angeles (LAX) to Tokyo (NRT): No availability found via Aeroplan
These are coveted awards, so not every date will have award space. However, a good number of dates often do. Here's what we've found.
East Coast
Singapore Airlines operates the world's longest flight between New York and Singapore. You used to be able to find plenty of availability through Aeroplan, especially if you booked as far out as the calendar allows. However, both manually searching and using our favorite award search tool — Seats.aero — we couldn't find a single seat on the nonstop between New York and Singapore, no matter which direction or fare class we searched.
That said, Singapore Airlines operates a separate, fifth-freedom flight between New York (JFK) and Frankfurt (FRA), as well, which offers multiple award seats for booking (and at a fantastic price!):

West Coast
Travelers on the West Coast also enjoy the opportunity to book Singapore Airlines award flights via Aeroplan — with availability all the way to Singapore. For example, from Los Angeles (LAX), travelers can fly directly to Singapore for 60,000 Aeroplan points in economy. However, don't expect to find any business class availability.

Or fly nonstop from San Francisco (SFO) to Singapore (SIN) for the same rate:

Options for flights outside the U.S.
If you're already traveling outside the U.S., your options for using your Aeroplan points for a Singapore Airlines award explode.
A quick, one-hour flight from Singapore (SIN) to Kuala Lumpur (KUL) will cost 8,000 Aeroplan points in economy or 20,000 in business:

While an eight-hour journey from Singapore (SIN) to Sydney (SYD) will run just 25,000 points in economy or 45,000 in business:

Finally, a long-haul flight from Singapore (SIN) to London (LHR) is 50,000 Aeroplan points in economy or 80,000 in business:

Are these all ground-breaking redemptions? Not necessarily, but the fact that they are available for booking through Aeroplan makes them that much easier to secure.
When To Book Singapore Airlines Awards Through Aeroplan vs. KrisFlyer
Singapore Airlines partners with nearly every transferable points currency, making it easy to accumulate and book Singapore Airlines awards through KrisFlyer. However, booking Singapore Airlines award flights through Aeroplan offers a few distinct advantages.
Aeroplan offers a lower points cost
Aeroplan awards are priced based on the zones you fly between and the distance you travel. So, through Aeroplan, that flight from Singapore to London costs 80,000 points in business class.
Meanwhile, booking the same flight through Singapore Airlines' own award program would cost 108,500 miles — 35% more! Plus, even searching more than eight months in advance, the business saver award is on a waitlist. If I really needed to book this flight, I'd pay 182,500 KrisFlyer miles for the business class award, which is more than double the current rate on Aeroplan.

Aeroplan offers an expanded partner airline network
Compared to Singapore Airlines (and virtually every other airline award program), Aeroplan boasts an unbelievable list of airline partners. At last count, there were more than 50 airlines you could book with Aeroplan points. Plus, these partners are available to mix and match on awards. Essentially, every destination imaginable is reachable with Aeroplan.
Singapore Airlines serves many destinations and is a member of the Star Alliance, just like Air Canada. However, Aeroplan's non-alliance partners expand the possible award route network beyond what KrisFlyer can offer.
How To Earn Aeroplan Points
Luckily, Aeroplan partners with multiple transferable points ecosystems. This broad accessibility means travelers can transfer points from multiple programs to book Singapore Airlines awards.
Aeroplan also offers a co-branded credit card, issued by Chase: the Aeroplan® Credit Card. This card is currently offering a solid sign-up bonus: 75,000 bonus points after you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months your account is open.

Occasionally, American Express and Chase offer transfer bonuses to Aeroplan. Take advantage of these to spend even fewer miles on award flights with Aeroplan. But if you don't feel like waiting for one of these bonuses to come around, Aeroplan Card holders can take advantage of a standing 10% transfer bonus from Chase to Aeroplan when they transfer at least 50,000 points in one transaction — up to 25,000 bonus points per year.

Our Take
Singapore Airlines offers an amazing product to travelers worldwide. In particular, the airline's premium cabin travel sets a high standard. Unfortunately, Singapore Airlines limits partner access to premium cabin awards. That's what makes Aeroplan's access to these awards so exceptional. Access to world-class premium cabin award space, and at lower prices, too, makes this a doubly appealing booking option.
Add to that the unique features of Aeroplan's award program — stopovers on awards for only 5,000 additional points and the ease with which you can accumulate its points — you have all the more reason to book Singapore Airlines flights through Air Canada Aeroplan. Unfortunately, some of our favorite redemptions, like the longest nonstop flight in the world, are now inaccessible through Aeroplan. Even so, the fantastic availability for non-U.S. routes makes it a win in our book.
