Got a Barclays-issued American Airlines credit card? If so, check your offers, as you might have a spending-based offer to earn 2,000 bonus miles on your card. This is a targeted offer, so not everyone will have it. If you do, however, this could be a nice way to pad your AAdvantage® balance this summer.
2,000 Bonus AA Miles After Spending on Barclays Aviator Cards
After logging into your Barclays account, select your Aviator card (if you have more than one Barclays card). In the top right corner, click on “Offers.” You might find an offer there to earn 2,000 bonus American Airlines miles. These bonus miles are on top of what you'll normally earn.

To earn the bonus miles, you'll need to spend $300 per month on purchases during June, July, and August 2024. You'll also earn Loyalty Points (at the standard rate of 1 Loyalty Point per $1 spent) from your spending to earn the extra miles.
However, as this is a targeted offer, not everyone will see it. You might see nothing or might see a different offer altogether, such as my offer to upgrade to a more premium card, though I'd prefer the offer for the bonus miles instead.

Our Take
Earning $2,000 bonus miles from $900 of spending ($300 per month across the next three months) equates to an extra 2.22 miles per dollar spent. That's nothing groundbreaking. However, this offer could be worth activating for bonus miles — especially for people who will surpass the spending threshold regardless. Would I shift significant amounts of spending on to a Barclays Aviator card for 2,000 extra AA miles? No. Would I be happy to get this offer and partake? Yes.
