This summer, SIXT held several great promotions that allowed travelers to earn bonus miles with their favorite airline based on how many goals that country scored at Euro 2024. Now, SIXT is back with another promotion specifically for Miles & More members.

This SIXT promotion offers Lufthansa Miles & More members up to 10,000 bonus miles on rentals through October 31, 2024. The number of bonus miles depends on the length of the rental and adding a protection package. Here's how to take advantage of this promotion.

Earn up to 10,000 Bonus Miles & More Miles With SIXT's October Promotion

Miles & More members can earn up to 10,000 bonus miles on rentals booked by October 31 and completed by December 20, 2024.

This SIXT promotion awards miles based on how long the rental is and if members add a protection plan to their rental. Here's what you'll earn without a package:

  • 1-2 day rentals get 500 bonus miles
  • 3-5 day rentals get 1,000 bonus miles
  • 6-10 day rentals get 2,500 bonus miles
  • 11+ day rentals get 5,000 bonus miles

Members can double their miles by choosing a protection package:

  • 1,000 bonus miles on 1-2 day rentals with a package
  • 2,000 bonus miles on 3-5 day rentals with a package
  • 5,000 bonus miles on 6-10 day rentals with a package
  • 10,000 bonus miles on 11+ day rentals with a package

While the extra miles are intriguing, it's worth weighing the overall cost of adding a protection package. In a few rentals we checked, the base protection package adds a little over $30 per day to the total cost of the rental. Is 10,000 bonus miles worth an extra ~$330? This equates to buying those miles for 3.3 cents apiece, which is over twice the cost of buying Lufthansa Miles & More miles outright with a bonus. The value proposition is even worse if you add a more expensive protection package.

Our Take

SIXT has numerous partners with whom to earn bonus miles and points and occasionally offers promotions to earn bonus rewards. This promotion to earn up to 10,000 bonus Miles & More miles is a solid offer — if you don't end up spending more than you should on a protection package — as these valuable miles are otherwise hard to earn in bulk.

If you'd rather earn a different mileage currency, a similar offer exists for Turkish Airlines Miles & Smiles members to save up to 15% and earn up to 3X miles, but that offer is not eligible for rentals in the U.S. or Canada.
