Lufthansa started selling mileage bundles called “Bundle & Go” for its Miles & More program late in 2022. The bundles come in four sizes: Extra Small, Small, Medium, and Large. For a limited time, Lufthansa is offering members a 50% bonus on their first purchase of one of these bundles. With this bonus, members can buy Lufthansa Miles & More miles for as little as 1.39¢ apiece.
That makes now a great time for those looking to earn Lufthansa Miles & More miles — which are otherwise difficult to accumulate due to a lack of transfer partners. But should you buy Lufthansa miles during this promotion? Here's a look at when purchasing miles bundles could make sense.

Page Contents
Why It's So Hard to Accumulate Lufthansa Miles
Lufthansa Miles & More miles are some of the hardest miles to accumulate in the points and miles ecosystem.
Back in 2019, Lufthansa spoiled the party by suspending loyalty point transfers from partners like Marriott due to a new regulation regarding “e-money.” It also wasn't possible to buy Lufthansa miles at the time. Practically the only way to earn miles with Lufthansa Miles & More is by holding the Lufthansa Miles & More® World Elite Mastercard® or crediting flying activity to the program.
However, Lufthansa now sells miles as part of a bundle. These bundles include other perks like discounts on Priority Pass memberships and bonus miles when booking hotels and car rentals.

Buy Lufthansa Miles Packages With a 50% Bonus
Lufthansa currently offers four bundle options to buy miles — having recently added the “Extra Small” option over the last few promotions. For a limited time, each bundle offers a 50% bonus. However, the per-mile cost decreases as you buy a larger bundle:
- Extra Small bundle: 4,500 miles for $110 (2.44¢ per mile)
- Small bundle: 15,000 miles for $300 (2¢ per mile)
- Medium bundle: 75,000 miles for $1,190 (1.59¢ per mile)
- Large bundle: 150,000 miles for $2,080 (1.39¢ per mile)

The cost per mile depends on the bundle size. The cheapest rate when paying in dollars is found when you buy 150,000 Lufthansa miles (including the bonus) for $2,080 — that's just 1.39¢ per mile. The standard prices for each bundle are the same as laid out above — the only difference is that you receive 50% more miles for these standard prices.

- Log in to your Miles & More account.
- Select one of the bundles (Extra Small, Small, Medium, or Large)
- After your purchase, you should receive an email receipt.
- The miles could take up to five business days to appear. However, I bought some miles during a similar promotion, and mine showed up instantly — albeit in two transactions.

Lufthansa Buy Miles History
We have enough of a track record from Lufthansa now to understand what to expect from them when it comes to buy-miles promotions.
This current promotion to grab points for just 1.39¢ apiece falls on the cheaper end of what's been on offer from Lufthansa. So, if you're looking to grab some Miles & More miles, now might be a good time to do so:

Maximize Your Purchase
Unfortunately, these purchases won't count as an airfare or travel purchase on your credit card. That's because Lufthansa sells miles through Points.com. Thus, you should use one of these credit cards to pay:
- Any credit card where you're working on a sign-up bonus. These are the best welcome offers available right now.
- Any credit card with perks you can unlock from spending, such as hotel free night awards, hotel elite status, or airline elite status.
- Your best credit card for everyday spending, such as the Citi Double Cash® Card or Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card.

Bottom Line
Lufthansa has been selling mileage bundles for a while now, so we know what to expect. Because you can't buy the exact number of miles for a redemption, you're often left with a surplus of miles you might never need. The recently added Extra Small Bundle option might help you trim down the leftovers.
The excitement surrounding these miles bundles has grown; to keep that going, Lufthansa is offering a 50% bonus. But you must act fast, as this promotion is only available for a limited time. If you maximize this deal, you can grab Lufthansa Miles & More miles for as little as 1.39¢ each.
Keep in mind that it's possible to book a first-class ticket on Lufthansa with fewer points and fees through other Star Alliance partners. However, booking through the Miles & More program has the added benefit of allowing you to book your trip up to 360 days in advance. This promotion is an excellent option for those who plan their travels well in advance. While buying the needed miles isn't “cheap,” it's definitely cheaper than buying the ticket outright.
Will you be buying Lufthansa Miles & More miles bundles at a per-mile rate as little as 1.39¢ each?

I bought these bundles before when they had the 50% bonus. I tried to buy the 100,000 + 50,000 = 150,000 bundle today but I have no bonus offer.
I think this 50% bonus on the XL bundle is targeted and I am not the target!!
No bonus offered for me. Might be targeted again.
Same. No bonus offer when I log into my LH account.
I tried to open the purchase website, but I don’t see the 15% discount on the page.
Did I miss something?
How can I get the discount? I’m new here.
Thanks for your help!
Ah, it seems this promotion is targeted. Term #3 of the T&Cs states “This exclusive promotional offer is only applicable to selected Miles & More members.” I’ve updated the post to reflect this.
5pm EST on April 30th and the bonus offer on their site no longer shows. It is before the 12pm midnight cet (also why european time on american offer??)
I have emailed them.. not thrilled about this.
the 55K RT Biz bargains have $2000 fees.
Having purchased Bundle & Go miles and attempting to use them, I keep getting an error message stating “The following problem has occurred:
An error occurred while processing the redemption with the frequent flyer number provided (1332 – 2415)”
Any known solution? The miles are showing as posted in my Miles & More account.
Thanks
Hi Aaron, that’s a new one for me. Have you tried calling to ask for a manual booking over the phone, telling them about this error?
I had the same problem he had. They said my account was locked and if I wanted to use it I had to buy a ticket and fly once to activate it. Otherwise, it cannot be used.
Ken – this is after you had miles in your account (were they purchased miles?)? This is strange. I’d like to know more details.
This happened to me as well. It was because the flight I was booking was no longer available and the website did not yet reflect it. Once I changed to a different outgoing flight I was able to book…. 5 hours later.
I bought the small package and they did not credit me the 60% bonus miles. Pretty uncool.
Oh no! Did you reach out to Lufthansa to inquire about the bonus?
unfortunetly the link does not work
Interesting! It’s working on our end. The URL indicates that it’s a global offer, but maybe there are different links for different regions? Where are you checking from?
Nice informative article! I’m going to definitely look into taking advantage of this!
Great way to get points without having to worry about accumulating them. Great write-up.
