It's back! Virgin Atlantic Flying Club members who never linked their account to Virgin Red may be targeted to do so before December 24, 2024 to earn 4,000 bonus points.
If targeted, this is one of those rare, great offers to get bonus points without purchasing anything. Here's the difference between Flying Club and Virgin Red and how to claim your bonus points.
What is Virgin Flying Club vs. Virgin Red
Flying Club is the loyalty program specifically for the Virgin Atlantic airline. Meanwhile, Virgin Red is the broader rewards program for all Virgin brands.
Virgin Red members can earn and redeem Virgin points with brands members including:
- Virgin Atlantic
- Virgin Holidays
- Virgin Media
- Virgin Money
- Virgin Wines
- Virgin Mobile
- Virgin Voyages
- and many more
In total, Virgin Red has over 150 brands to earn points with — and over 200 ways to spend your points. Conversely, Virgin Flying Club members only earn points on flights with Virgin Atlantic and partner airlines.
While Virgin Atlantic Flying Club and Virgin Red are separate programs, members can link the two accounts together and thus use points earned from Virgin Atlantic flights on other brands in Virgin Red.
You can even make your Virgin Red account your primary account as you can use your Virgin Red points to directly book an award flight with Virgin Atlantic without transferring the points to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club. All you need to do is link your two accounts.

Our Take
Virgin is clearly trying to get more Virgin Red members. Free points just for linking your accounts is a no-brainer. We always love seeing these kinds of free points promotions, just like how you can get bonus points just for becoming a new member of various airlines and hotels.
AwardWallet members have recently redeemed Virgin Atlantic Flying Club points for an average of 3.65¢ each. While you can redeem Virgin points through Virgin Red for some unique redemptions, travelers will most likely get the best value out of Virgin points through Virgin Atlantic Flying Club. Furthermore, not all Virgin Red brands are accessible to U.S. citizens.
Regardless, there's no reason not to link your accounts if you're targeted for this offer.
Did you get this email from Virgin Atlantic Flying Club? Will you link your accounts to get your easy 4,000 bonus points?
