When it comes time to redeem hard-earned points and miles, most of the focus tends to be on airline and hotel redemptions. But many loyalty programs offer more creative ways to use your rewards, like Marriott Bonvoy Moments or Alaska Mileage Plan’s Unlocked experiences. Delta has its own version, called SkyMiles Experiences, and it has just introduced a new redemption option through the PGA Tour Collection.
Here’s a look at what’s on offer with this latest addition.
Delta's New Redemption Option: The PGA Tour Collection
Delta announced its PGA Tour partnership back in March, but the auction-based SkyMiles redemption opportunities have only recently gone live. According to the press release, tee times at TPC courses like TPC Sawgrass are part of the plan, though those options haven’t launched yet.
In the future, Delta also plans to offer “buy-it-now” experiences. For now, all three PGA Tour Playoff events in August feature various “Inside the Ropes” experiences available through auctions, including access to the TOUR Championship. One PGA Tour Champions event also includes a similar redemption opportunity.
Below, we'll highlight the events and experiences you can bid on.
FedEx St. Jude Championship (August 7-10)
The FedEx St. Jude Championship, held at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee, is the first event of the FedEx Cup Playoffs. One experience is currently up for auction, with two date options. The winning bidder and a guest will serve as Honorary Observers, giving them the rare chance to walk inside the ropes with a tournament pairing on either Saturday or Sunday.
The package includes:
- One preferred parking pass
- Two tournament-branded polos and hats to wear during the round
- Two ground passes for the selected day
In addition, separate auctions are available for Cypress Club access for four guests on each day of the tournament. These packages include food, beverages, and parking passes.

BMW Championship (August 16-17)
As the second event of the FedEx Cup Playoffs, the BMW Championship is a shorter tournament, but it still offers several amazing experiences. One weekend package includes Saturday Honorary Observer credentials for two, along with access to the Trophy Club on Sunday for two guests. The Trophy Club experience includes:
- Food and drink available for purchase
- Views of the 16th and 17th holes
- Air-conditioned seating area and restrooms
- One parking pass for Sunday

- Reserved covered stadium seating
- Access to an air-conditioned lounge

The Ally Challenge presented by McLaren (August 21-23)
The Ally Challenge is a PGA Tour Champions event held in Grand Blanc Township, Michigan. There are three experiences currently up for auction. The first is an Honorary Observer package with Stewart Cink during the first round on Friday. It includes:
- Two Honorary Observer credentials
- Two grounds passes with Club 1957 access
- Two meet-and-greet passes to meet Stewart Cink
- Two tickets to the Friday night tournament concert

Another auction offers the chance to play in the Thursday Pro-Am on August 21. The package includes:
- Four Pro-Am entries
- Eight tickets to the Tuesday night Pro-Am party

- Eight three-day Porch Venue tickets for the tournament
- Eight front-of-stage tickets for the Sam Hunt concert on Saturday, August 23

The Tour Championship (August 21-24)
The TOUR Championship is the final event of the FedEx Cup Playoffs, held at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia, which is also home to Delta’s headquarters. This event offers two experiences up for auction, identical in format but differing in group size. One is for two guests, and the other is for four, available on each day of the championship.
- One-day starter lounge passes with food, drinks, and lounge access
- A morning putting clinic before tournament play begins

Our Take
It’s great to see Delta offering golf fans with large SkyMiles balances the chance to bid on exclusive experiences like the ones above. These are bespoke VIP opportunities designed for a specific type of member: loyal Delta flyers who may prefer to stay grounded and spend meaningful time with loved ones instead of redeeming miles for yet another flight.
That said, it would be great to see more accessible redemption options that do not require an auction, such as tee times or general admission tickets to events. Still, this is a promising start for members who want to use their SkyMiles to experience the excitement of the PGA Tour season finale.
