Virgin Atlantic has a neat new loyalty benefit called “High Five.” In short, it's a way for eligible Flying Club members to earn bonus points as a thank you for their continued business over several years. Members who take a Virgin Atlantic flight in five separate years can earn 12,000 bonus points. Yep, it's that simple.

Here’s how it works, who qualifies, and how to track your progress.

How Virgin Atlantic's Loyalty “High Five” Works

There aren't many airlines that reward you with, well, anything after years of continued business — even if you don't have much business to offer. Virgin Atlantic is now an outlier.

Earn 12k points after five flying years

In early 2026, Virgin Atlantic launched its “High Five” loyalty benefit, which offers Flying Club members 12,000 bonus points after taking at least one paid or award flight operated by Virgin Atlantic across five separate years.

This offer dates back to 2021, so if you flew Virgin Atlantic once in 2021, and then again in 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025, you should receive a nice bump in your Virgin points balance soon (if you haven't already) or within 30 days of unlocking your first High Five.

Or, if you flew Virgin Atlantic in some of those years, the “Stamps” you earned on your first eligible flight each year will count toward your total, meaning you're already on your way to unlocking your first reward.

What's more, you can earn this bonus multiple times. Each time you reach another five flying years, you'll earn a new reward.

This offer doesn't require registration and is available to Red, Silver, and Gold tier members.

10% bonus points on future flights

Another rewarding element of Virgin Atlantic's High Five is an elite-like benefit you'll earn after unlocking your first High Five. It amounts to a 10% points bonus on future High Five-qualifying flights, even as a Red tier member.

As a reminder, a High Five-qualifying flight is one booked with cash or Virgin points and operated by Virgin Atlantic (not a partner or codeshare airline) where your Flying Club number is attached to your ticket.

How to Track Your “High Five” Progress

It’s extremely easy to track your progress toward a High Five reward. Just open the Virgin Atlantic mobile app, tap “Account” in the bottom right corner, and scroll down until you see High Five.

Plan Ahead and Earn More Virgin Points

There are plenty of great ways to use Virgin points, so we can’t blame you if you’re already planning how to redeem the ones you’ll earn from the airline’s High Five benefit. But if you’d rather not wait until your points post to start building your balance, there are plenty of ways to earn a lot of Virgin points.

Outside of buying Virgin points during a bonus or discount, or applying for the Virgin Red Rewards Mastercard®, you can transfer the following points and miles to Flying Club:

Our Take

It's fairly refreshing to see a company thank you for your business across several years, even if you're not the world's most frequent flyer or a big spender. So, we're already big fans of Virgin Atlantic's new High Five benefit.

The reward of 12,000 bonus points can take you a surprisingly long way on Virgin Atlantic, and this might be enough of an incentive to make sure you check off at least one Virgin Atlantic flight per year. That'll get you on your way to your first High Five bonus (if you haven't hit it already) or help you inch closer to your next one.
