When a hotel updates its earning structure, we brace for impact. More often than not, the change will likely result in fewer points per dollar spent. However, Marriott has pleasantly surprised us with its latest change. Marriott Bonvoy members will now earn more points per dollar spent and more elite night credits for stays at Marriott Executive Apartments.
If you prefer to rent fully furnished apartments instead of hotel rooms, this change is fantastic news, especially if you are working toward Marriott elite status. Here's what you need to know about Marriott's updated earning chart.
Marriott Enhances Executive Apartments Point and Elite Night Earnings
If you're unfamiliar, Marriott Executive Apartments are fully furnished apartments in more than 16 countries around the world. Each includes a fully stocked kitchen, 24-hour security, and helpful amenities such as grocery delivery and laundry service. You'll also enjoy perks you're used to at hotels, like housekeeping, fitness centers, concierge services, and more. You can rent everything from a studio to a three-bedroom apartment, allowing you to choose how much space you need for your stay.
Marriott has just increased the number of points and elite night credits you'll earn on Marriott Executive Apartment bookings. Now, Marriott Bonvoy members will earn five points per $1 spent and one elite night credit for every night stayed.
This means Marriott Executive Apartments are now in the same earning tier as more familiar brands, like Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy, Residence Inn by Marriott, and TownePlace Suites by Marriott.

For reference, the earning tiers as of December 30, 2025, are listed below. Stays at Marriott Executive Apartments previously earned just 2.5 points per $1 spent, and only one elite night credit for every three nights stayed.
In other words, this update doubles the number of points you'll earn on your stay and triples the number of elite nights you'll earn.

These changes might not sound like a lot, but they can quickly add up. For instance, consider a stay at the Marriott Executive Apartments Kuala Lumpur. A two-bedroom apartment would cost $226 per night, totaling $1,587 for a week-long stay.
Under the previous earning structure, you'd earn 3,967 Marriott Bonvoy points and just two elite night credits. Now, you'll earn 7,935 Marriott Bonvoy points and seven elite night credits for the same amount spent.

Multiply those increased earnings by several stays per year, and you'll earn elite status and enough points for a free night far more quickly.

Bottom Line
The opportunity to earn more points per dollar spent and extra elite night credits is always a good thing. If you are actively working toward elite status or are attempting to increase your points balance ahead of a redemption, booking a stay at a Marriott Executive Apartment can help push you over the edge.
Thanks to its updated earnings, Marriott Executive Apartments are a much more compelling option for your next vacation. And if you want to earn even more points per dollar spent, consider applying for a Marriott Bonvoy credit card.
