If you are an AT&T subscriber, we have some exciting news. Today, Citi and AT&T announced a refresh of the AT&T Points Plus® Card from Citi (Rates & Fees). Cardholders can now enjoy an updated earning potential, fewer fees, and a great welcome offer. Here's what to know.
New Benefits Coming to the AT&T Points Plus
The AT&T Points Plus, which launched in 2022, is getting a refresh. Back in February, Citi and AT&T announced a new benefit for cardholders: a $10-per-line monthly discount on their AT&T wireless bills and a $10 monthly discount on eligible AT&T internet bills when enrolled in AutoPay and paperless billing. Fortunately, this benefit is staying.
Now, cardholders can earn 2X Citi ThankYou® Points on AT&T products and services, including bill payments. This is a welcome change — it's not often to find a co-branded credit card that doesn't offer bonus points on purchases with that merchant. You'll continue to earn 3X ThankYou® Points at gas and EV charging stations, 2X points at grocery stores, and 1X points on all other purchases.

In addition, cardholders can now make purchases abroad without incurring a foreign transaction fee. Previously, cardholders paid 3% of each purchase transaction in U.S. dollars when using their card abroad.
Other benefits of the card are now easier to earn — cardholders can continue to enjoy a $20 statement credit each billing cycle after spending $1,000 or more on purchases, now with no additional requirements.
If the refresh has convinced you to apply for the AT&T Points Plus, you can take advantage of a great welcome offer: Earn a $200 statement credit after you spend $1,000 on purchases in the first 3 months of account opening.
Bottom Line
Considering that the AT&T Points Plus doesn't charge an annual fee, it's actually pretty rewarding. If you are a family of four, you could save $40 per month on your wireless bill and another $10 per month on your internet bill with qualifying activity. That adds up to $600 in savings per year. Add in the up to $240 in statement credits if you spend $1,000 on your card each month, and you're clearing $840 in total savings, all without paying an annual fee.
Plus, the rewards you earn on your purchases can be transferred to Citi transfer partners. If you're already an AT&T wireless or internet subscriber, applying for the new AT&T Points Plus could make a lot of sense.
