This Alaska Airlines Global Getaways promotion discounts award flights by up to 50% to six destinations, with one-way awards available at the following starting rates:
- London, England (LHR) — Starting at 20,000 points
- Apia, Samoa (APW) — Starting at 25,500 points
- Athens, Greece (ATH) — Starting at 25,000 points
- Taipei (TPE) — Starting at 30,000 points
- La Paz, Mexico (LAP) — Starting at 20,000 points
- Tokyo, Japan (HND) — Starting at 27,500 points

What makes this sale a bit more confusing than past sales is the fact that the destinations have different travel windows. Flights to five of the six destinations (London, Apia, Athens, Taipei, and La Paz) have an eligible travel window between January 5, 2027, and February 28, 2027.
However, flights to Tokyo have an eligible travel window from September 2, 2026 to November 18, 2026. That means you'll need to take a last-minute trip to Japan if you want to take advantage.
How good is this Alaska Airlines award discount?
In our book, just about any discount is a good discount. After all, you're saving points and miles, which is a good thing. And Alaska Airlines' Global Getaways offer is one of the better deals we've seen on Atmos Rewards award tickets in quite some time.
The main catch is that promotional pricing applies to economy class only, which might be a dealbreaker depending on how you prefer to travel. That said, we're seeing some excellent deals.
For example, you can fly from Seattle (SEA) to Tokyo (HND) via Honolulu (HNL) for just 27,500 Atmos Rewards points plus about $6 in taxes and fees. These awards would normally cost anywhere from 42,500 to 55,000 points. That's up to a 50% discount, which is a great deal. The opportunity to get from the one corner of the U.S. to Asia for just 27,500 points doesn't come around very often.
Generally speaking, the farther you fly on Alaska's partner airlines, the greater your percentage savings can be. For example, flights to Athens (ATH) cost 25,000 points plus taxes and fees whether you're departing from the East Coast or the West Coast, even though those itineraries would normally fall into different distance bands.
