Airline websites can be frustrating, and they’re all incredibly different. If you’re a member of multiple programs, you know the feeling, especially when it comes to tracking your account activity. American Airlines just rolled out a small but important update to how you track both your Loyalty Points earnings and your redeemable miles activity. Let’s take a look.
American Changes How You View Your AAdvantage Account Activity Online
Before this update, your American Airlines AAdvantage® account activity was displayed in tiles. You could click on each tile to see information about a transaction, including the miles and Loyalty Points earned, but the overall functionality was pretty limited.
Now, American has introduced a table format that provides more detail and customization in a clean, organized layout.

You can sort and filter by date range or by category (flight, hotel, credit card, etc.). There’s also a search function that makes it easy to find past flights to a specific airport. These tools make it much simpler to review your history and group transactions for tracking purposes.

When you click on a specific transaction, you’ll see more detail than before. For flights, that means confirmation and ticket numbers, along with a full breakdown of miles earned on a revenue ticket.

Overall, the design is cleaner and far more functional. American has kept the tile layout for upcoming trips, though, so it will be interesting to see if that changes down the road.

Bottom Line
We like it when airlines, hotels, and loyalty programs make things easier for you, the consumer. While a change to how your AAdvantage miles and Loyalty Points are displayed might seem minor, updates like this are still helpful. This one in particular makes it much easier to go line by line and confirm that your earnings match what you expected — and that they posted correctly in the first place.
