IHG Business Rewards helps planners and small businesses earn significantly more on hotel stays, meetings, and events. What’s more, the program regularly runs promotions that can boost your earnings even further.

The current promotion offers double points (meaning up to 6X IHG points) on business stays, meeting rooms, and events through December 31, 2026, provided reservations are made by August 31, 2026.

Whether you’re booking a simple work trip or planning a large event, now’s a great time to register and lock in extra value. Here’s a look at how IHG Business Rewards works and what’s currently on offer.

What Is IHG Business Rewards?

IHG Business Rewards is a loyalty program that lets travel bookers and small business owners earn bonus points on stays, meeting rooms, and event bookings at nearly 6,000 participating IHG Hotels & Resorts properties worldwide.

These points are earned in addition to the points collected by the individual IHG One Rewards member staying at the hotel, making this an easy way to double-dip on eligible stays.

Any IHG One Rewards member can add an IHG Business Rewards account to their personal account. Once enrolled, members earn 3X points per dollar spent on eligible stays booked for travelers connected to their IHG Business Rewards account. However, you won’t earn points on your own travel through the program. Instead, IHG Business Rewards points are deposited into the linked IHG One Rewards account.

To earn IHG Business Rewards points, you’ll need to book a stay, meeting room, or event for another IHG One Rewards member through an eligible corporate travel channel.

Base IHG One Rewards points earned through IHG Business Rewards count toward elite status, while bonus points do not. However, these earnings do not receive any additional elite status bonus. In other words, you’ll generally earn 3X points per dollar regardless of your elite status, except during promotions.

IHG notes that Business Rewards points can take up to six weeks to post. And if you regularly book personal IHG stays, it may even make sense to have a family member create an IHG Business Rewards account to earn extra points on your bookings.

One additional perk of enrolling in IHG Business Rewards is that you unlock free point transfers between IHG One Rewards accounts, up to 100,000 points per year.

Current IHG Business Rewards Promotions

Here’s an overview of the IHG Business Rewards promotions currently available.

Earn double points on stays, meetings, and events

IHG Business Rewards is offering members double points on stays, meeting rooms, and events booked by August 31, 2026. Eligible stays and events must be completed by December 31, 2026.

That means IHG Business Rewards members will earn 6X points per dollar spent instead of the usual 3X points. If this sounds familiar, it’s likely because IHG has brought back this promotion regularly over the past three years.

Make sure to register for this promotion before making your first booking. After that, there’s no limit to the number of bookings you can make before August 31, 2026. However, IHG caps earnings at 120,000 points per booking (60,000 base points plus 60,000 bonus points), which equates to $20,000 in qualifying spending.

It’s also worth noting that the three base points earned per dollar are considered Elite Qualifying Points and count toward IHG One Rewards elite status. The three bonus points awarded through this promotion are non-elite-qualifying points.

This offer is available only for bookings at participating IHG Hotels & Resorts properties in the U.S., Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean, Mexico, Europe, the Middle East, Japan, Micronesia, India, Africa, Southeast Asia, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Greater China, and the South Pacific.
