Any IHG One Rewards member can add an IHG Business Rewards account to their personal account. Once enrolled, members earn 3X points per dollar spent on eligible stays booked for travelers connected to their IHG Business Rewards account. However, you won’t earn points on your own travel through the program. Instead, IHG Business Rewards points are deposited into the linked IHG One Rewards account.
To earn IHG Business Rewards points, you’ll need to book a stay, meeting room, or event for another IHG One Rewards member through an eligible corporate travel channel.
Base IHG One Rewards points earned through IHG Business Rewards count toward elite status, while bonus points do not. However, these earnings do not receive any additional elite status bonus. In other words, you’ll generally earn 3X points per dollar regardless of your elite status, except during promotions.
IHG notes that Business Rewards points can take up to six weeks to post. And if you regularly book personal IHG stays, it may even make sense to have a family member create an IHG Business Rewards account to earn extra points on your bookings.
One additional perk of enrolling in IHG Business Rewards is that you can unlock free point transfers between IHG One Rewards accounts — up to 100,000 points per year — when you complete qualifying activity.

Earn double points on stays, meetings, and events
IHG Business Rewards is offering eligible members double points on stays, meetings, and events booked October 1–December 31, 2026 and completed by July 30, 2027.
Registered members will earn 6X points per $1 spent instead of the usual 3X points. If you've participated in one of IHG's previous Business Rewards promotions, you'll need to register again for this offer.
Make sure to register for this promotion before making your first eligible booking. There's no limit to the number of qualifying stays, meetings, or events, but IHG caps earnings at 120,000 points per qualifying stay or event, including all associated guest rooms and eligible spending. That's equivalent to $20,000 in qualifying spending.
Of those 6X points, three are base points that count toward IHG One Rewards elite status, while the three promotional bonus points do not.
The offer is available at participating IHG properties worldwide, but excludes Six Senses, Ruby Hotels, Iberostar Beachfront Resorts, and certain other properties. It cannot be combined with other promotions. Eligibility is technically subject to the invitation, but it's worth trying to register if you're interested.

- Earn up to 10X base points for being an IHG® One Rewards Member (Being a cardholder is not required to earn this bonus for participating in the IHG® loyalty program)

Our Take
If you regularly book hotel stays or organize events for others, IHG Business Rewards lets you earn extra points without a membership fee. And with this promotion, you can double your usual earnings to 6X points per $1 spent on qualifying bookings.
Just make sure to register before booking and confirm that your chosen hotel participates in the promotion. Remember, only base points count toward elite status, and you can't combine this offer with other promotions.
