As a new member, i’m delighted to see the infographic statistics that show so much information about how other members are using Award Wallet to their advantage! I’m happy to now be among their ranks! 😀
Nice to have you on board Patrick. Hope you find the app and the blog useful.
This App is helping me a lot to manage my mileage points!
My points aren’t expiring because of the reminders!
Award Wallet can access many loyalty programs accounts in various contries, including Brazil. Thats great!
happy I found award wallet!
congratulations! super infographic
When do you anticipate to start tracking United miles?
Unfortunately, there isn’t a timeline for this. One way to help is to make your feelings known to United. We’ll start tracking the moment they change their policy.
A great company, if a small one.
If you’re taking suggestions, it would be great to get a bit more of a modernized interface for the platform. I realize a company like Trip It / Concur has great resources but it’s tough to stand them up side by side.
Thank you for setting up the platform!
One of the best programs! Simple and clear. Thanks to the developers!
Thank you for setting up a way to track this for multiple family members!
I’m commenting to get th 5 miles award for AA, however, I like the page for the tips i get.
By far, the best points blog I have found yet!
Thank you for a great product.
I love all these statistics and info!!! Great stuff!!
Very beautiful infographics!
Thank YOU for running such an amazing website 🙂
Thank you for a great product! This has been invaluable for keeping track of multiple programs!
Thanks for the stats! I find them quite interesting. The amount of miles that expired in 2018 is really low… probably also thanks to you!
Thanks Erik and Award Wallet not only for all the great posts, including this one, but also for the AAdavantage miles. I agree with others, learning about both earning and redeeming miles can be very time intensive so your posts are much appreciated!
Wow. Thanks for the statistics! I find them quite interesting.
I just recently joined your community and look forward to more posts like this and how to optimize my air miles. Keep up the great work.
Wow, those are some impressive stats!
Thanks for creating this place and all of the helpful information that’s so readily shared. Please keep up the great work!
Thank you Award Wallet for providing a much needed service. It is quite the challenge trying to keep track of award programs and their expiration dates. I can hardly wait to share this info with my friends.
Thank you, Award Wallet, for allowing us to earn points through our comments. Thanks to this blog, I’m also learning a lot about extra ways to earn rewards.
What a convenient service, when you are time poor, but still want to track your accounts and trips.
My biggest travel success for 2018 was booking 4 X Australia to Europe (and return) flight for the family. It makes very long-haul trips bearable.
No redemptions planned for 2019 (will pay for my economy flights). But already planning something more exciting for 2020.
Thanks Award Wallet!
And thank you guys for such an awesome service…. and for being awesome enough to continue grandfathering us old time users on the old Premium pricing 🙂
Thanks! You saved quite a few of my points!
Thanks to Award Wallet. Your postings on your blog are a great way to keep up with Travel news related to points/miles/etc. Thanks!
Well done AwardWallet Team! Thanks for this great tool to track my mileage accounts and the accounts for the whole family. Especially the expiration warning notices is a great function!
There’s no excuse for someone who has award wallet to have their points expire…
I am impressed by the numbers of the community.
Great job!!!!
Thank you! This seems like a very useful blog – one which will help AAdvantage members like me save and maximise value of the AA points. Will definitely follow regularly
So grateful for awardwallet, helps keep me on track, motivated and a more savvy miles enthusiast.
Thanks for providing this service!
Thanks for useful information
Congrats on these numbers and keep up the great work!
Keep it up. You guys save me hours of effort each month, and are well worth the semi-annual upgrade cost. Thank you!
Keep up the good work at AwardWallet and it will be no problem continuing to be a member!
Wonderful site.
Love Award Wallet, great info and we thank you!!!
AwardWallet – you are welcome.
Thanks for a great blog. I look forward to reading this everyday!
General Question – – – -> If I always fly coach and am always looking for the cheapest (points or dollars) flight, what would you suggest as the best airline reward program and/or credit card program for me? So many of the promotions I see are for Business Class and First Class; I’m interested in Economy Class. Thank you.
Domestically, Southwest is fantastic and points transfer 1:1 from Ultimate Rewards, and you’ll always get cheap fares on Frontier and Spirit. Traveling internationally it is much more location dependent. See Kristina’s post on scoring cheap fares here – https://awardwallet.com/blog/5-tips-to-find-cheap-fares-mistake-fares-and-error-fares/
You missed out members from Africa ( Geographical Location of members ) . I am from South Africa but travel a lot.
Wondering why US traveled to so much?
Considering the large number of US users, maybe a lot of the flights are domestic?
It’s from AwardWallet members so I assume most are from the US?
I’d llike to hear more about AwardWallet’s efforts to ensure security. Your statistics suggest a goldmine for clever hackers.
Gregg, we detail our security processes and policies in the FAQ’s on the AwardWallet website (https://awardwallet.com/faqs#10). But the short of it is we use industry-standard encryption and participate in regular hacker bounty bug hunts, and we offer two-factor authentication and the ability to store passwords locally on your computer, plus in-house security policies to further secure accounts. If you have specific questions please get in touch.
I’m thinking about enabling the two-factor authentication.
That means that to login I need to have always my smartphone with me?
Typically yes. Personally, I use Google Authenticator on my phone (I run a Pixel 3) with the recovery code stored in an encrypted file in LastPass for when I lose/break my phone (which happened recently). Can feel a little complicated to begin with but having all your accounts secure is worth it in my books.
Impressive numbers from the community.
Thanks for sharing these stats.
I agree 30 amazing people. I could not do what ya’ll do for us! So many amazing blog posts, number crunching, info verifying, traveling, keeping up with all the hotel/credit card/airline rules and keeping up with your own info and travel scheds. Woo I’d be worn out every single day. How do you come back and do it again and again everyday? Oh wait maybe I shouldn’t remind you? Just keep doing your amazing work :O)
Best reward site ever.
Thank you. I love the service and use it frequently.
Very interesting seeing the analysis of these aggregated statistics.
Great statistics. Good luck for award wallet to continue increase it’s user base and the functionality of website & app further improves.
72 billion dollars on flights, wow!
Excited to see what 2019 will bring!
Thanks for all the information that’s provided, I wish there was more Canadian content but I now see we are a tiny drop in the bucket. Of course its also due to our programs being just plain crap overall, sigh. Ill still keep trying!
It is perplexing that there are so many more members from Brazil than from Germany.
Yeah, this is one of the reasons why we translated the interface to Portuguese before we translated it to German.
Wow! These stats were interesting. I was surprised to see so many users in Brazil!
Excellent.
Thank you for providing this platform for us!!!
Thank you AwardWallet. I like your program very much. And by reading your blogs I know more about most updated info of different award programs. Thanks a lot
Keep up the great work!
The amount of time I saved using AwardWallet is priceless.
Some mind boggling statistics there!
That’s a lot of miles floating around out there to keep track of!
Thank you Awardwallet.
Awesome stats!!! Thanks for sharing the details of the site!
These stats are incredible!
Thanks to the 30 amazing people who run this amazing site!
Those are impressive numbers indeed!
You guys rock. I was going crazy with all my memberships and points and miles and then I found you! You pretty much saved me from going to therapy 🙂
Keep doing what you do! You are amazing!
Very interesting stats! Thank you all for your work.
S0 grateful for this service! Awesome stats! Gratz!
Thanks for all you do, Award Wallet Team! I appreciate the ability to view all of my rewards programs in one place. The blog content keeps me up to date on the ever changing points and miles world. Looking forward to some great trip redemptions in 2019!
And thank you!! AW has been indispensable to us as we travel with points and miles. Last Year, our biggest points trip was Thailand (Koh Samui, Krabi & BKK). This year our main trip will be a return to Europe, and then a touch farther out, a return to the Maldives, a return to Thailand, and then South Africa.
I had no idea that AwardWallet was so extensive but I guess that I shouldn’t be surprised. I read multiple points and miles blogs and I find consistently that the writing and reporting is much more professional on Award Wallet than on any of the others. Of course, the ability to easily track my points doesn’t hurt either. Thank you for Award Wallet and keep up the high quality writing!
Thanks for the kudos!
I second that. I won’t mention anyone by name, but another site I follow extremely closely has grown too quickly for its own good. The contributors either don’t proofread what they write or passed their English high school classes with a solid B. They’ve also taken cues from Buzzfeed and have clickbait titles fairly regularly.
You all here write very well with good research and information. Thanks.
I loved reading those stats! So cool.
Out of all tracking sites, this is the best. Keep up the good work.
Those are some interesting numbers. Looking to earn more miles and points in 2019 by signing up for reward program shopping and dining options. Not sure I will be doing much traveling this year.
Happy to join this year and looking forward to this year.
Really good site.
Wow what an impressive set of statistics; thanks for continuing to provide great and very useful information.
Great site.
Nice statistics!
Truly amazing. Thanks for all of your hard work.
Those are awesome metrics to see! I want to thank you guys. Little things like giving five miles for commenting really mean a lot! (this is still only for American correct, or can anything else be selected?)
Correct. Still just American at this stage.
Ironically (or not?) I think I’ve stopped receiving miles for comments. Has anyone else reported this? I’ve had both the popups confirming my miles as well as my emails saying my miles have been ordered stop.
If you’re not receiving the popup, get in touch with support via our contact page. You should definitely still receive miles for approved comments.
Thank you all for your time and talents in making AwardWallet an easy to use site with useful functionality.
These are indeed impressive numbers. My thanks to all the volunteers who help run awardwallet. It has been a very useful service.
I love how you shared the statistics and the amazing teamwork of those of you at Award Wallet!
It’s another great year and thanks for these 30 talented individuals for creating this amazing platform to notify members regarding latest mileage news and promotion, and also with this platform can member better manage their own individual membership programs. Deeply appreciated!
I enjoyed my award wallet subscription in 2018.
Looking forward to an even better award wallet in 2019. (the bar is high :))
That a ton of points earned and spent… wow!
Yes, good to be an award wallet member.
And, thank you for your information.
I really enjoy your articles; keep it up!
Great app.
Thanks for your tip on two factor authentication. Gives extra peace of mind on protecting my account, and surprisingly easy to set up by following the link.
Happy to be a part of the community.
Many Thanks
I cannot fathom why hotel points earned is 100x of air miles. Could this be skewed by double/triple counting during the mess known as Marriott merging?
That is a good point. I don’t know off the top of my head, but I should double-check this with the dev guys who ran the queries.
Thank you for this great service!
Making some broad assumptions, that means 43 million airline mikes lost, and 2 billion hotel points lost? Why can’t I be so lucky?
Thanks for all the help!
And why are hotel points earned at a rate over 100X airline miles? That seems….odd?
Congratulations, Awardwallet team!
Traditional and simplified Chinese are not different languages (total should be 6, not 7) but congrats on the growth! Definitely been very useful for me.
Crap! Why did we pay for two translations then? 😉
These are truly amazing numbers! Congratulations to you all – and to us.
And, to that point of congratulations… I selfishly second that, since when AwardWallet does well, we all do well! 🙂
Thank you for this great service!$
Really appreciate the value this site provides. Thanks.
Love the service you’re providing! The trip organization is super helpful when you’re traveling and may not have a data connection to look up your confirmation numbers.
I’m also digging the spending analysis tool that shows you how to maximize your points earning. Keep it up!
Amazing statistics presented.
Great stats! NYC doesnt surprise me as being one of the top cities, I helped stimulate the economy a few times this year.
very cool. thanks for putting this together. some surprising stats in there (top 5 countries..surprising to me at least). keep up the good work!
Congrats on such great statistics. Well done! Thanks for everything that you do, especially the expiration warning notices.
I’d like to second this!
This is cool. It makes me wonder what all the jobs are of the 30 people. The more I learn about things the more I learn you just don’t really know what goes on behind the scenes and Award Wallet is another of those places that there must be much more to it than I know.
Thank you!
Is there a contest to guess the identities of the 30 faceless-but-amazing people? 😀
not yet.
