Capital One Travel's Premier and Lifestyle Collections are curated lists of properties that give you a little extra with each reservation. And since Capital One introduced vacation rentals to its travel portal earlier this year, both collections have grown and now include a combined 2,500+ homes across 50+ destinations.
For those after a home-like experience on the road, here's what you need to know about booking vacation rentals through Capital One Travel.
How To Book Vacation Rentals Through Capital One Travel
Filed under the “Premium Stays” menu in the Capital One Travel booking engine is a category titled “Vacation Rentals.” And at first glance, it's intriguing.
Over 2,500 hand-picked properties in 50+ destinations are split between Capital One's Premier and Lifestyle collections. You can find rental options in places like Costa Rica, Napa, Aspen, and more.
Like with hotels, booking a collection property means you'll earn a few extra perks during your stay. On vacation rentals, this means a $100 experience credit for Premier Collection bookings and $50 for Lifestyle Collection bookings — good for stocked fridges, house cleaning, in-home private chefs, and more.
Even better, booking vacation rental homes through Capital One Travel is easy to do. All that's required is plugging in your stay details and scrolling through the options.

Prices vary wildly depending on the size of the house you reserve and the collection it falls under. You could pay anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars per night. All that to say this: You should bank a hefty sum of rewards on these reservations, as eligible cardholders will earn 5X Capital One miles on vacation rental bookings.
But as a general rule, it always pays to compare costs. You may get a better deal on the same property elsewhere.

After completing your reservation, one of the host companies — AvantStay, Boutiq, or KEY.co — will reach out with all the necessary finer details, like how to get to the property and so on.
Over time, more destinations and properties will be added to both collections. Moreover, additional host companies will be brought into the fold. According to Capital One, Portoro, HVN, and Naya Homes are three notable providers coming online soon.
Which cardholders are eligible to book vacation rentals?
If you have a credit card that earns Capital One miles, you can book vacation rentals through Capital One Travel. However, which credit card you have in your wallet decides whether you can book properties through both collections or just one of them.
Here's the breakdown of which collections are available by card:
- Premier Collection
- Lifestyle Collection
Outside of the size of the experience credits and (typically) the nightly rate, there are few differences between the two collections. Plus, all cardholders earn 5X miles per dollar spent on vacation rentals booked through Capital One. Plus, you'll be able to use your annual $300 travel credit from the Capital One Venture X and Venture X Business toward these bookings. Alternatively, you can pay for your rentals with your Capital One miles at a rate of 1¢ apiece.
