Virgin Atlantic flights to the U.K.
If you’re eyeing a trip to London, Virgin points can unlock some excellent deals. Even though Flying Club uses dynamic pricing, it’s possible to find awards from the U.S. to London or Manchester starting at just:
- 6,000 points for economy — 4,700 Capital One miles with the transfer bonus
- 10,500 points for premium economy — 8,100 Capital One miles with the transfer bonus
- 29,000 points for Upper Class — 22,400 Capital One miles with the transfer bonus
Taxes and fees can run on the high side depending on the cabin you book. But when you add together the points cost and the out-of-pocket amount and stack that up against the steep cash fares on these routes, you’ll usually still come out ahead. Short-haul Delta flights
Virgin Atlantic Flying Club uses a distance-based award chart for Delta award flights (excluding flights to Europe). Sadly, this sweet spot lost a bit of value when Virgin devalued Delta awards in December 2023. But there's still some value to be found — especially after a 30% transfer bonus.

That sub-500-mile band is likely going to offer the most value. However, longer flights to international destinations for 11,000 Virgin points can still be a good deal. For example, you can book nonstop flights from Los Angeles (LAX) to Cabo (SJD) for 11,000 Virgin points (or 8,500 Capital One miles):
ANA business and first class to Japan
Another incredible sweet spot in the Virgin Atlantic award chart is ANA business- and first-class awards to Japan. Again, you'll need to find nonstop award availability. However, if you do, it's an incredible deal.
The U.S. is divided into three regions. ANA flights to/from Hawaii are the cheapest, at just 37,500 Virgin points each way in business class or 57,500 points in first class. During this transfer bonus, you can transfer just 28,900 Capital One miles to have enough Virgin points to book business class — or just 44,300 Capital One miles to book ANA first class.
Flights from the U.S. mainland aren't much more expensive.

- 60,000 Virgin points (46,200 Capital One miles) from Central/Eastern U.S. to Japan in ANA business class
