Chase has just launched its next Month of More for May 2025, offering great rewards and redemption opportunities with Chase Freedom cards. Bonuses are available when redeeming points through the Ultimate Rewards store for Apple products and gift cards through May 31, 2025. Plus, you can earn cash-back rewards at a higher rate with select merchants when you click through Shop With Chase.
Should you use your Ultimate Rewards Points through this promotion, or hang onto them for other uses? Let's take a closer look.
Chase Freedom Month of More May 2025
Chase launches its Month of More promotion a couple times a year for Chase Freedom cardholders. The savings are relatively the same each time, but with different gift cards and merchants. The exception is Apple, which offers the same 10% bonus every Month of More.
Those with cards in the Chase Freedom family can take advantage of three different deals during this May's Month of More promotion. Get up to 15% cash back on select brands, 10% more value when redeeming for Apple products, and up to a 15% discount when redeeming for gift cards from select retailers. All of these deals are offered through the Chase Travel℠ portal.
These deals are targeted at cardholders with one of the following cards:
With these five cards, you can usually redeem your points at a rate of 1¢ each. During the Month of More promotion, however, you'll get up to 15% better value on your purchases, increasing the value of your points to 1.15¢ apiece.
It's essential to note that the Month of More offers only apply to online purchases made through the Chase Travel℠ portal. These bonuses don't apply to in-store purchases or purchases made with a card other than a Freedom card.
Extra cashback through Shop with Chase
We always recommend clicking through an online shopping portal before shopping online. During this Month of More, you'll find up to 15% cash-back offers for many merchants through Shop with Chase, although you'll also see as low as 5% cash-back rates with this promotion.
Rewards this month are considerably lower than those offered in the last Month of More promotion, when most merchants offered 15% rewards. As such, you might want to wait for the next holiday iteration of the Month of More promotion.

Redeem points with a 10% bonus on Apple purchases
Apple is one of the most popular brands out there. That could be because it produces some of the best smartphones, computers, and earbuds on the market…if you're an Apple user. But let's be honest: Apple isn't cheap! Any opportunity to get Apple products at a discount is worth considering.
For this Month of More, Freedom cardholders will receive a 10% bonus (1.1¢ per point) when they redeem points for purchases through the Apple Ultimate Rewards store. This promotion includes iPhones — which weren't included when this promotion first started in 2020.
Note that cardholders of other Chase Ultimate Rewards cards sometimes have offers to redeem Ultimate Rewards points for Apple purchases with a bonus.
Up to 15% off select gift cards
Are you looking for a gift but can't quite think of what to get? A gift card could be the perfect option. If you know what restaurants they like — or maybe if they have a pet — you can get up to 15% off when using your Chase points. This time, we're seeing a good number of gift cards available.
You can select from the following brands at these elevated rates:
- Bath & Body (15%)
- Belk (10%)
- Brinker (10%)
- Chilis (10%)
- Columbia Sportswear (10%)
- Domino’s Pizza (10%)
- Doordash (15%)
- Fandango (10%)
- Focus Bands (10%)
- Gap Options (10%)
- Google (10%)
- Krispy Kreme (10%)
- Maggiano’s (10%)
- Michaels (10%)
- Nike (10%)
- Nordstrom Rack (10%)
- One4all (10%)
- Petco (10%)
- Red Robin (10%)
- Spafinder (15%)
- Ulta Beauty (10%)
- Zaxby’s (10%)
Your Ultimate Rewards points fetch a value of 1.1¢ to 1.15¢ apiece through these offers.
Is Chase's Month of More Worth Using?
At first glance, up to 15% cash back on some big brands, a 10% bonus on redemptions for Apple products, and up to 15% off some popular restaurants and stores doesn't seem like a bad deal. And in a vacuum, we would tend to agree. But because this is Chase we are talking about, there are ways to redeem Ultimate Rewards points for more bang for your buck.
If you have the Chase Sapphire Reserve®, Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, or Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card, you're much better off transferring your points to Chase's travel partners. Doing so can unlock much more value from your points.
It may not provide as much value, but you also can book travel through the Chase travel portal. With the Ink Preferred and Sapphire Preferred, your points are worth 1.25¢ apiece in the portal. With the Sapphire Reserve, this jumps up to 1.5¢ per point.
And if you're planning to make a purchase in the Apple Ultimate Rewards Store and hold a Chase Sapphire Reserve®, you can get a 50% bonus instead of the 10% bonus for Freedom cardholders through May 31.

Our Take
The Chase Month of More promotion is nice if you're looking to grab a gift card for someone or want to upgrade your smartphone or computer and aren't worried about maximizing your points redemptions. But if you have a Chase card that offers access to Ultimate Rewards transfer partners, such as a Sapphire card, you can likely do a lot better than the 1.15¢ per point you will get through the Month of More.
The Month of More promotion occurs twice a year and appears to offer better deals just before the holidays. If you really want to redeem your points during the Month of More, perhaps hold off until later this year.
Furthermore, before redeeming your points for merchandise through the Month of More promotion or using the Shop with Chase portal, be sure to check a site like Cashback Monitor. Depending on what shopping portal you click through before buying, you might be able to earn more in cash back on a purchase than you'd get through this promotion. Ultimately, it depends on your preferences and the best fit for your shopping, travel, and redemption goals.
