Delta has launched a flash award sale to Europe! This time around Delta has decided to surprise us – the sale was not formally announced, and there is no special sale page. All you need to do to see the deals is head over to the standard award page and perform a normal flight search.
Key Terms
- With no formal T&Cs, we don’t know when the deal will end so if you see a deal you like, book it.
- Prices vary by route with the cheapest routes offering round trips to Europe for 20,000 Skymiles.
- As far as we can tell, outbound travel dates are through August 2019.
- The return leg can be booked through November 2019, depending on the route.
Known Routes
So far, the data points have shown a large variety of routes that are heavily discounted. Routes include:
- Boston to Paris from 22,000 miles.
- Los Angeles to London from 26,000 miles
- Seattle to London, and Miami to London from 28,000 miles
- Boston to Paris and Amsterdam for 34,000 miles
- Los Angeles to Paris from 38,000 miles
- Portland to London for 42,000 miles
The prices are for round trip awards in Main Cabin and exclude taxes and fees.
Our Take
If you were planning on heading to Europe, then it does not get any better than this! There are some great deals with this promotion. Spending a few minutes on the Delta site to see if you find something that works for you is definitely worth your while. One thing to remember: with very little information about the sale, if you find something that works, book it before it disappears.

Chase won’t work for delta flash sales. Although some of the same flights might be bookable with Air France or Virgin Atlantic (both Chase partners)
So nice to have so many options to fly to Europe!

It definitely is a great value for only 20k bt it’s in Economy. What about Business Class as well? I’d like to see a few deals in this category of seating as well. But for now, 2ok in Economy is very good! Grab them while they’re still around!

Better deals out of NYC area to London than from Atlanta – at lest for mid Aug departure.
It’s quite annoying these deals are only for economy class.
Economy class paid tickets are dirt cheap these days that no mileage redemption deal can be considered as a good deal.

Well, I am planning on heading to Europe on a cruise. It is hard to imagine it getting any better than this. There are some great deals here.
I saw a flight to London Heathrow for 38,000 miles and one to Munich for 81,000 miles. I guess one just have to try different destinations and dates and hope to get lucky.
Any sales at this time for American or British airlines?

I’m planning a trip for 6 to MUC in August 2020. Although I have all the miles I need in 4 different programs, I’m hoping for award redemption prices like this when the time comes to make my reservations.
