Earlier this year, Frontier Airlines teased an unlimited buy-one-get-one travel perk as part of a broader loyalty program revamp. Originally, this benefit was slated for a summer launch, but the Companion Travel Pass is already here! If you hold Elite Platinum or Diamond status, you can start booking BOGO travel for yourself and the companion of your choice.
Here's what Frontier Miles members need to know about this brand-new benefit — and how to lock in the elite status necessary to book two tickets for the price of one.

What Is the Frontier Companion Travel Pass?
Frontier’s Companion Travel Pass makes flying with a plus one even more affordable. This new offering allows Elite Platinum and Diamond members can bring a companion on any flight with an available seat. You’ll only need to pay government-imposed taxes and fees, starting at $5.60.
You’ll unlock the pass as soon as you hit Elite Platinum and keep it as long as you hold Frontier Miles Platinum or Diamond status. And as of May 7, 2025, the Companion Travel Pass is live, so it's yours to take advantage of, provided you're eligible for it.

How To Use a Frontier Companion Travel Pass
The Frontier Companion Travel Pass works a lot like the beloved Southwest Companion Pass but with a few key differences. The biggest one, though? You don’t have to select a companion in advance; you can choose a different one each time you fly!
The only limitation is that your companion must be a Frontier Miles member and added to your reservation when booking. You also need to be logged into your Frontier account at the start of the booking process to ensure the benefits apply.
You can use the pass on tickets booked with cash or Frontier Miles, and there are no blackout dates. As long as there’s an open seat, you can bring a companion for just the government-imposed taxes and fees. Just note that you have to use the Frontier Companion Travel Pass for someone else; you can't use it to book multiple seats in your name.
If you're traveling with multiple people, your companion benefits will apply to the person with the lowest Frontier Miles elite status.
You can use your Companion Travel Pass as often as you’d like, but there are a couple of restrictions. Companion travel benefits don't apply to GoWild! Pass bookings, and your companion won’t earn redeemable miles or elite status-qualifying points on the flight.

How To Earn Frontier Elite Platinum or Diamond Status
The lucrative Frontier Companion Travel Pass is a benefit you'll unlock once you earn 50,000 Elite Status Points. At this threshold, you'll unlock Elite Platinum status in the Frontier Miles program. And the pass is yours to keep and maximize as long as you maintain Elite Platinum or top-tier Diamond status.
You can earn Elite Status Points on just about anything you buy through Frontier. This includes flights, bags, the purchase of a GoWild! Pass or Discount Den Membership, and more. The rate you earn Elite Status Points depends on your status, but you'll earn between 10X and 20X per dollar spent.
In addition, you can earn Elite Status Points by spending on the FRONTIER Airlines World Mastercard®. You'll earn one Elite Status Point for every $1 spent on purchases.
Final Thoughts
Frontier's brand-new Companion Travel Pass is here, and if you’ve got Elite Platinum or Diamond status within the Frontier Miles program, this is a benefit worth getting excited about. Since it’s a brand-new perk, the execution might not be flawless, but the bottom line is that it can save you a bundle on travel, and we’re excited to test it for ourselves.
