The luxury AMR Collection is now a part of Hyatt's family of hotels, thanks to the recent acquisition of ALG (Apple Leisure Group). With this new addition, Hyatt will add approximately 100 properties around the world to its portfolio. As a way to promote the AMR Collection, Hyatt is offering cardholders an exclusive deal when they stay at one of its newly-added properties: 10X points on every dollar spent.
But, before you run out to book your stay, there are a few big caveats you should be aware of.
Key Details:
- Must stay between March 7 to May 15, 2022.
- Available to both holders of the personal The World of Hyatt Credit Card and the small business World of Hyatt Business Credit Card.
- Stays must be booked via amrcollection.com, the AMR Collection mobile app, or by calling in at 1-800-597-4761.
- No registration required. Simply book your stay and use your eligible Hyatt credit card to pay.
- Bonus points should post within 2 weeks of your stay.

Bad News First
While Hyatt has officially procured the AMR Collection, it is still in the process of integrating its newest brand into the World of Hyatt loyalty program. Unfortunately, when you take advantage of this promotion, you will not earn qualifying tier nights or enjoy the benefits of your elite status. The hotels aren't 100% integrated into World of Hyatt yet. What you're getting out of this deal is extra points earning and a hotel stay, but nothing else as far as World of Hyatt is concerned.
Additionally, the promotion is being touted as a 10X points promo, which it is, but remember that cardholders already earn 4 World of Hyatt points per dollar spent on qualifying purchases. Those points are included in the total. So, although your initial thought might be that this is actually a 14X World of Hyatt points offer, it isn't. It's 10X total–the original 4 points you would earn, plus 6 more points per dollar. So we're clear: it's 10X total. It's NOT 10X on top of what you would normally get.

And Now the Good News
Unfortunately, there isn't any particularly exciting good news here. The ability to earn 10 World of Hyatt points per dollar at one of these new-to-Hyatt properties is great if you already have a stay in mind. However, if you are wondering whether you should go out of your way to take advantage of this promotion, the answer is “no way”.
One potentially interesting way to save some money while still earning 10x World of Hyatt points at AMR Collection properties is to take advantage of the 5th or 6th night free options available on the following properties:

Final Thoughts
Hyatt is transitioning the AMR Collection into the World of Hyatt program. In the meantime, it's offering 10X points for stays through May 15, 2022. Unfortunately, these dates are fairly short. Not many people who care about maximizing their points earnings can head out to a luxury resort in the next couple of months.
However, if you already have a stay planned during those dates, by all means, take advantage of this offer. You don't want to leave points on the table — especially World of Hyatt points. If you're traveling to a city with an AMR Collection property, you may even consider changing your hotel reservation, as long as the math works for you.
In the meantime, the rest of us can anxiously await for the AMR Collection to be fully integrated into World of Hyatt, so we can take advantage of all the things this amazing loyalty program has to offer.
