Earn 60k Points With the Aeroplan Card

The Aeroplan Card is currently offering a limited-time welcome bonus that can jumpstart your account for travel in the year ahead. New Cardmembers can earn 60,000 bonus points after you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 months your account is open.

This isn’t the biggest offer we’ve ever seen on the card, but the manageable spending requirement and the fact that it’s a single-tier offer rather than a two-tiered one make it more attainable for travelers.

What is the Aeroplan Card‘s welcome offer worth?

Based on the average redemption rate AwardWallet users have gotten from Aeroplan points, 60,000 points are worth about $1,110 toward award flights. From premium cabin redemptions to short hops in the U.S. and abroad, there are plenty of ways to put this bonus to work.

Aeroplan points can be used on nearly 50 airlines. Beyond Air Canada, you can book award flights with United Airlines, Singapore Airlines, regional carriers within Canada, Emirates, and many others. You can also stretch your points further by adding a cheap stopover.

Or, if award flights aren't your speed, you can redeem your points at 1.25¢ each toward recent travel purchases using Pay Yourself Back, which has been extended through December 31, 2026. That redemption option makes the offer worth at least $750 toward paid travel.

Who's Eligible for the Aeroplan Card Sign-Up Bonus?

You aren't eligible for the welcome bonus if you're a current cardholder — or you received a sign-up bonus on this card in the previous 24 months. Chase has these terms on the Aeroplan Card application page:

“This product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of the Chase Aeroplan Card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of the Chase Aeroplan Card who received a new cardmember bonus for this card within the last 24 months.”

As with all Chase cards, the Aeroplan Card is subject to Chase’s 5/24 policy. If you’ve opened five or more credit cards in the past 24 months, based on what's showing on your credit report, you likely won't be approved for this card.

Our Take

The current welcome bonus on the Aeroplan Card isn't overly flashy, but the spending requirement is much lower than what we’ve seen with previous offers. That makes it worth a look if you’re short on Aeroplan points but don’t want a card with a massive spending requirement.

Beyond the bonus, the card includes valuable perks that can make it worth keeping long term. Aeroplan elite status, free checked bags, and built-in travel insurance can easily offset the $95 annual fee year after year.
