Marriott's Preferred Partnership Program with Air Canada now allows Marriott Bonvoy and Air Canada Aeroplan members to status match between programs. If you have elite status with only one of these programs but not the other, this is a great opportunity. Here are the details and what you need to know about how to match your status.
Marriott Bonvoy and Air Canada Aeroplan Status Match Opportunity
Marriott has Preferred Partnership programs with several airlines, including United Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Emirates, and Cathay Pacific. Now, a new opportunity allows Marriott Bonvoy and Air Canada Aeroplan members to status match between programs.
This a straightforward opportunity, but it's not open to everyone. Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador Elite and Titanium Elite members can status match to Aeroplan 25K status. Conversely, Aeroplan Super Elite, 75K, and 50K members can status match to Marriott Gold Elite status. Members can link their accounts and status match either through the dedicated Aeroplan website or the dedicated Marriott website.

Both status matches are valid for “at least” 12 months after matching. So, matching either direction before the end of 2024 will give the other status through the end of 2025. After that, members will continue to hold their matched status so long as they maintain the elite status in the original program. Re-matching is not required.
Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status benefits include 25% bonus points, 2 p.m. late checkout (based on availability), enhanced in-room internet, a Gold welcome gift (250-500 bonus points), and a preferred room upgrade as available. Air Canada Aeroplan 25K Elite members have many benefits, including complimentary preferred seats, priority airport check-in and standby, complimentary checked baggage allowance, priority boarding, and more.
