Marriott and United Airlines launched a promotion that'll award bonus Marriott Bonvoy points on United flights and bonus United MileagePlus miles on Marriott stays. This offer is an extension of Marriott's and United's Preferred Partnership, but you'll need to register for this promotion even if you've previously linked your Marriott and United accounts.
Here's all you need to know about this limited-time dual currency promotion.
Marriott and United Promotion for Elite Members
If you hold Marriott Bonvoy Titanium or Ambassador Elite, or United Premier Gold, Platinum, or 1K, you can take part in this dual currency promotion. It's an easy way to earn bonus rewards on travel you're already going to complete.
How to register for the Marriott-United promotion
Registering for the preferred partnership is the first requirement to earn bonus rewards. Follow this link to register if you're an eligible United elite, or this link if you have an eligible level of Bonvoy elite status. If you hold both, take your pick!
The second requirement is to enroll in the promotion; you must do so by August 31, 2025. Register here if you're a United elite, or register here if you're a Marriott elite.

What rewards can you earn with this promotion?
Okay, finally. Let's get to the rewards. Eligible flights booked via United will earn Bonvoy points, and eligible stays booked via Marriott earn United miles. Unfortunately, award bookings through either program don't count.
Flights operated by United or United Express are eligible for bonus rewards; registrants can earn 750 Marriott points for each unique itinerary flown by August 31, 2025. A “unique itinerary” includes all the flights under one record locator booked wholly with cash. You won't earn 750 points per flight.
An eligible stay means a booking of one night or more at a participating Marriott property completed by the end of August. There's no requirement on how much you need to pay for your stay to earn, but the catch is you must pay with cash. Marriott Bonvoy Cash & Points reservations or straight points bookings don't count. For each eligible stay, you'll collect 500 United miles.
It's also worth noting that eligible travel booked before July 1 that falls within the promotional period will also count toward bonus points and miles.
Lastly, if you complete both an eligible stay and an eligible flight, you'll earn a one-time bonus of 1,000 United MileagePlus miles and 1,500 Marriott points. Any rewards you receive courtesy of this promotion will appear in your respective accounts up to eight weeks after it ends.
Final Thoughts
There's good news and bad news with this United-Marriott promo. The good news? These are easy rewards to collect if you have travel plans with United or Marriott between July 1, 2025, and August 31, 2025. The bad news? The rewards are paltry. To earn a meaningful amount of United miles or Bonvoy points from this offer, prepare to book a slew of flights or a lot of individual stays.
To put the rewards into perspective, here's roughly what each reward denomination you could earn after completing an eligible activity is worth based on recent AwardWallet user redemptions:
- 750 Marriott Bonvoy points = $7
- 1,500 Marriott Bonvoy points = $14
- 500 United MileagePlus miles = $10
- 1,000 United MileagePlus miles = $20
The rewards aren't worth going out of your way for, clearly, but it's hard to complain about a little extra if the promo aligns with your travel plans. Just remember to take the steps to register and enroll so you don't miss out.
