You can purchase Choice Privileges points for less than half a cent apiece with this year’s Daily Getaways promotion. There are several point packages available, and the promotion starts on May 15, 2019, 1:00 p.m. ET.

Key Terms

  • The promotion starts on May 15, 2019. 1:00 p.m. ET.
  • Choose from 4 points packages.
  • Purchase a maximum of two sets of points from each points package.
  • Allow up to 7 days for the points to post to your account.

There are four offers available for you to choose from:

  • Purchase 14,000 points for $80 (1,150 packages available)
  • Purchase 28,000 points for $144 (1,571 packages available)
  • Purchase 42,000 points for $205 (1,049 packages available)
  • Purchase 55,000 points for $265 (1,306 packages available)

One thing to remember: If you want to stock up on Choice Privileges points (with a specific redemption in mind) you can purchase two of each points package for a maximum of 8 packages. So you are allowed to purchase 2X 55,000 points plus 2X 42,000 points and so forth.

These offers usually sell out the first day, and the more popular ones can sell out within hours. If you're planning to buy multiple packages, we'd recommend getting started as soon as the offer goes live and buying the packages with more points at a better price first. The 55,000-point or 42,000-point packages have the best rate at 0.481 cents apiece.

Our Take

Choice Hotels aren’t the most aspirational or luxurious properties, but there are situations where they offer excellent value. In particular, keep an eye out for Choice properties in locations where accommodation at big-brand hotels is disproportionately expensive. As with all buy miles deals, it’s a good idea to have a redemption in mind and do the math to make sure it isn’t cheaper to just pay for the stay with cash.

Overall, this is a solid discount, and we like the fact that you can buy multiple packages. This makes it possible to leverage this deal for an extended trip or a big family get-together that requires multiple rooms.
