Almost every major airline has a dining program affiliated with its frequent flyer program, enabling you to earn points every time you dine at a member restaurant. Most of these programs have signup bonuses to earn additional miles and points, so here is a roundup of what is available out there. Note: These are for new signups only. If you have an account in one program, try signing up for another to pick up some bonus points/miles in that program.

Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan

Alaska’s offer is pretty straightforward and simple: pick up 1,000 bonus miles when you spend $30 or more by March 31, 2017. The offer is valid at participating restaurants only, and you must register by March 31, 2017, to take advantage of this offer.

To benefit from the offer, you must signup for the Orbitz Reward Dining program by August 30, 2017. Summary

The bottom line is that everybody needs to eat, so if you are a points and miles collector, why not take the opportunity to earn some extra miles or points for doing something you would have done anyway?

P.S. Don't think you can game this one by registering the same credit card with each program. If you register a credit card in one program and then register it in a different program, it'll automatically unregister from the first. You'll notice the websites for all of these programs look virtually identical — they're all administered by the same organization.

  • Are these all for people new to the programs?

  • one can sign up for several of these programs by using different credit cards for each

    • I agree that this is a great way to get in on all of the bonuses. For those that don’t know, a card can only be associated with one program at a time. For example, if you register a card with AA Dining, but then try to register the same card with Alaska Dining, it will automatically disassociate from AA.

  • Oh wow! Maybe I should actually read those Rewards Network emails every once in a while! You can’t go wrong with free bonus points for eating out at a place you were going to eat out at anyways!

  • How can one determine if you previously signed up for dining program with an airline?
I checked my Delta Airlines account and there is not anything listed regarding Sky Miles dining.
    Thank you!

  • Great, glad I haven’t registered for any of those programs yet

  • Thanks for the details on these. We don’t use them as we’re concerned about credit card fraud.

  • I find that most restaurants in this program to be awful.

  • Another plus to having so many cards is I can participate in so many different programs. Need to get all the bonuses!

  • I will create a new account with Alaska.
Concerning the definition of new account, I think it’s based on the frequent flyer programme number and not on the e-mail address. Correct?

  • Does anyone know if there are any participating restaurants outside the US?

  • Should the name on cc be the same as airline account? I would like to signup my kid’s UA account with my card.

  • I recently hosted a party at a restaurant in network. Split bill between two cards both to maximize point return. There is usually a limit on points from a single transaction. I believe it is 3k points.

  • I have signed up for these but never earned a mile since never dined at a restaurant. Would I earn the bonus? if not is there anyway to unregister and reregister?

  • Ameet Maturu says:

My wife and I share the same credit card (different names, but same number). I already have an account, but she does not. Is she eligible for the bonus offer if I sign up?

  • This is a great and easy way to get some points / miles, I signed up for HHonors and AAdvantage last year and got the bonus.

  • This is a great way to keep your miles from expiring since the expiration date resets after any activity on your account

  • Have been participating in this program for years. I miss the days when there were bonus offers for already established members. Haven’t seen such in a long time.

  • Unfortuneately, none of the restaurants I frequent are on the dining program list. 🙁

  • Is it possible to double-dip on the offer? For example, using a Hilton card to get Hilton Rewards, but also Orbitz Bucks?

      • This is incorrect.

You can earn your dining bonus as well as the rewards you normally get with your credit card.

        • Looks like I read the question differently. So yes, you can earn the rewards directly on your credit card and then through the program, but you cannot earn in both the Orbitz Dining and Hilton Dining programs at the same time with the same card.

What you earn from your credit card rewards based on your normal spend is completely separate from what you earn through the dining program. I hope this clarifies my previous answer.

  • I did not think that orbitz, etc had dinning! Interesting…another way for Hilton. Does anyone else have numerous cards with different places for dinning? I don’t want to spread myself too thin and then not build miles with American and Delta. If I am trying for a certain trip soon and know which best programs to use, should I focus on those or does anyone think still best to spread out so everywhere you earn points?

I always forget about this way to earn a few extra miles! Thanks for the reminder!
