Heading to an IHG property soon? There are a couple of IHG promotions running right now that can help you rack up extra points or elite nights, plus members can already register for the first promotion of 2026.
Right now, IHG One Rewards members can double points on their second stay and triple points on their third and subsequent stays. Then, in 2026, earn double points on all stays after the first stay. Plus, you can buy up to 5,000 elite-qualifying points on stays — if you're in need of some before the status qualification year ends.
Here’s a full rundown of the current IHG promotions — and how to make the most of them on your next stay.
These promotions are exclusively available to IHG One Rewards members for earning bonus points. If you're not a member (it's free to join!) or are simply looking for a discount on your next stay, be sure to check out our post on IHG discounts.

Buy up to 5,000 elite qualifying points per night
Members may have the option to buy up to 5,000 elite qualifying points per night at booking. This might or might not be a good idea depending on your elite status goals, so check out the math of when it does and doesn't make sense.
Regional IHG Promotions
Most current regional IHG promotions focus on cash savings and offer up to 25% off your hotel stay or dining bill. We hope to see more points-focused offers soon. Meanwhile, regional deals are still worth considering, especially if you’re planning a trip and haven’t locked in your accommodations yet.

Our Take
IHG typically offers several promotions at once. Currently, members can earn double points on the second and subsequent stays through March 31, 2026.
In addition to these points and elite night promos, don't forget to use an IHG co-branded credit card — such as the IHG One Rewards Premier Card — to maximize your earnings at IHG properties.

One of the best loyalty programs available. This is not an interesting promotion in my opinion.
Many of these promos are targeted. That and the absolutely horrible IHG website and apps, registering for promos that one is qualified for, is a nightmare.
Yep. Couldn’t register
Good info. Thanks.
Excelente artículo!
Re: flash sale for Cyber Week offering members 10,000 bonus points for every two nights stayed at IHG properties, but you must register and book by midnight on November 29.
This doesn’t show anywhere on my member offers page when signed in, and when I click through your link, it asks for the promo code. Is this a targeted promo? Maybe it doesn’t work for members who live outside the US?
I’m Platinum Elite (thanks to you!) but have not been receiving IGH offers (including Black Friday/Cyber Week offers) since I registered for 10,000 points every 4 nights.. Maybe I’ve been giving them too much business this fall? LOL
Thanks for all the info you share!
This will be a good way to earn a few bonus points!
Thanks for the comprehensive review of this IHG bonus/ While this is not my primary program I do collect IHG points and this article helps me keep up to date.
Any idea if the 2x points promo also includes Mr and Mrs Smith properties?
Nate – “Members who complete qualifying nights during the Promotion Period as part of a Qualifying Stay with a Qualifying Rate at any participating IHG® Hotels & Resorts globally will receive DOUBLE the points they would have received”. There’s no mention of any hotels being excluded.
IHG is trying to get back into promotions, but they are greatly watered down.
Registered. Now the question is where do I want to stay?
I applied, they lost my application even after they checked my credit score and sent me a letter. Now the 150,000 points plus offer has expired. Was on the phone over 3 hours to be told too bad so sad offer expired. But I said I applied, you checked my credit and sent me a letter which I responded.
They don’t care.
Chase also will not let customers hold more than one IHG CC.
EDIT: IHG and Chase changed their terms so that you can not longer get the IHG Premier if you have the IHG Select.
ORIGINAL COMMENT: Technically, you can. I have both the Select and the Premier. But the sign-up bonus rules can prevent you from getting a bonus on multiple cards in a short period of time.
I had an agent specifically tell me that one can only hold a personal and a business IHG CC. They are not approving individuals who have the old Select card, for another personal card. I called the recon line and was told if I wanted a Premier card to product change my Select card to a Premier.
That is correct. IHG and Chase recently changed their terms so that you can no longer sign up for both cards. Previously, you could sign up for both (and I still have the Select and Premier). If you have the Select currently, I’d be tempted to hold onto it.
That’s now correct. Unfortunately, Chase and IHG changed their terms regarding this matter. I’ve updated my comment above.
Not true, I have 2 as we speak
Muy buenas promociones de IHG, las estoy analizando seriamente, gracias por la informacion.
Unfortunately not for non US residents.
Thanks for this. Very much looking forward to resuming travel.
I hope they’ll extend the date by which free anniversary nights must be used, for those of us uncomfortable traveling during the pandemic.
Buenos días, lamentablemente en la Argentina por el momento las tarjetas tienen suspendidas la suma de millas, espero que se soluciones prontamente.
The IHG card is one of my faves – love the free annual night and also that it cover Global Entry/Pre-check renewal once every 4 years…I’ve enjoyed staying at Intercontinentals in Paris & Bangkok with the free nite benefit as well as the beach in SC.
Pleasantly surprised with my recent stay at an intercontinental hotel. will choose them again.
Amazing offer from IHG here for the holidays. Great job to the Marketing team.
Always worth signing up. Even thought this is not my preferred program, you never know when you need a last minute hotel stay at an airport. IHG is great for those times.
The promotion is most suitable for the last minute stays.
Now it is the time for redeeming the IHG points, it is a good idscount
Now that I have their IHG credit card, will definitely be taking advantage of these promotions, good timing.
This offer is good through Sept 2022 at some but not all properties. At kimpton properties it is only good through April 2022. I haven’t looked at the other high end IHG properties. Here is the link to the kimpton offer page
https://www.ihg.com/kimptonhotels/content/us/en/stay/special-offers#exclusive=memberexclusive
The 25% isn’t always offered through Sept 2022. The Kimpton properties, for instance, only offer it through April 30. Here’s a link to the policy
https://www.ihg.com/kimptonhotels/content/us/en/stay/special-offers#exclusive=memberexclusive
Well this is a welcome surprise for us folks using IHG… They are my go to for business stays for sure.
Actually not a bad promo, especially when comparing to Marriott.
I’m not an IHG member so joining and getting a credit card sounds like the first priority, but the promos sound worthwhile. The Premier card sounds good since it gives elite status. I am not sure how valuable IHG points are so don’t know which current award promotion is best, but the one that ends in September seems like it’ll be too short a period for me to attempt to earn the necessary stays so I would have to opt for the up to 3x bonus points as the promotion I prefer.
6000 puntos me parece muy poco. Creo que ha habido mejores promociones para aprovechar. Tendremos que seguir esperando y estar atentos
Better than nothing…
Super easy to see if you qualify and sign up.
Not sure I’ll take advantage of this, but it doesn’t take much time to register. Thanks.
This promo is nice but it wont make me change any hotel reservations. 6000 points does not really get you anything.
IHG has devalued redemption so much that 6000 points is worth like 3 bucks
A lot of nights for just a 6k bonus but a promotion never the less, more than what Marriott seems to be offering right now
The promotino of 3K points($15 value) for two nights ($7.5 per night) is not very appealing.
Agreed, but it’s better than nothing if your travel plans call for an IHG 🙂
The bonus offer is hard to pass up when even stays at Holiday Express properties will net many points.
Yes. I was targeted. Perhaps a weekend getaway is in order now.
Not enough for a free night, but I’ll take free points.
Just checked and it said I don’t get the offer.I’m a platinum elite so figured I would… wrong. Oh well…
6000 points are all good and dandy, but redemption value is crap with IHG.
Depends on the type of property! I just stayed at a Holiday Inn in the Financial District of NYC for just 18k points per night (after 4th night free). But yeah, for InterCons, IHG redemption rates can be astronomical.
Great info and nice opportunity to earn some bonus points!
Thanks for the heads up. I have to use my anniversary nights (and am contemplating giving them as a gift, since I’m not keen to travel right now), so this promo dovetails nicely.
Good bonus offered. Hope to be able to travel soon.
30 dollars minimum included taxes,or just based rate?
The T&C state: “a minimum 1-night stay booked under a Qualifying Rate, with total spend exceeding US $30”. I’d assume that “total spend” doesn’t include taxes, but it would include resort/destination fees.
That 10k for one stay harkens back to the days when IHG promos were crazy stackable!
I want the 100% bonus promotion when you buy points again, please!
That promotion comes around very regularly, you won’t have to wait too long!
Thank you for this info! I will be using our IHG Premier card for this promotion. We like IHG as their hotels are always reliable quality and we never need anything fancy. We get a lot of value out of the points.
I’m pretty sure I have already signed up but when I went to your link (to double check) it asked me for a code. I definitely want to sign up despite it not being a particularly good deal compared to what other hotels are offering. I’m going to sign up for Intercontinental Ambassador and need to make one stay at an Intercontinental or a Kimpton. (To get the extra free night bonus) May as well get an extra 10K points for that stay. One thing that is not clear however, do we need to use the IHG credit card for the extra points or is just being a credit card holder enough to get the bonus?
The terms and conditions are unclear. I’ll probably use my IHG Premier for my stay anyways for the 10X points on spending. However, it seems that you don’t have to use the card for the stay.
I completed my stay at the Kimpton and paid with my Amex card to take advantage of that offer. I did get the 2x points of course. This morning I was surprised to see that I also got the 10 000 points from this promotion for being a cardmember! Even though I did not use the card, it kicked in anyway. I find that the IHG program is quite generous with their points…I just wish their elite benefits were better.
Nice! This cardholder offer was directly from IHG. We noticed that it didn’t explicitly state that you needed to use your card. So, it’s good to have confirmation of that!
Does a cardholder have to actually charge the stay on the card to get the 10,000 point bonus?
It doesn’t seem so. But the T&C gives IHG the “right of final interpretation of this Offer”, which isn’t an interesting catch-all.
Here’s the full T&C on this offer:
“For cardmembers using an IHG® Rewards Club Credit Card from Chase, an additional 10,000 Bonus Points will be awarded on your first qualifying stay during the promotional period at any IHG® Hotel and Resort worldwide. Please allow up to 4 to 6 weeks for Promotion bonus points to be credited. For new Chase IHG Rewards Club Credit Card accounts opened during the promotional period, please allow 4 to 6 weeks after the promotional period for bonus points to be credited. The 10,000 Bonus Points cardmembers earn from this promotion are separate from points earned from credit card spend on IHG transactions. IHG reserves the right of final interpretation of this Offer. This offer is not from Chase. Chase is not responsible for the provision of, or failure to provide, the stated benefits and services. Bonus points will post directly to your IHG® Rewards Club account and will not appear on your credit card statement.”
When I try to register, It asks me for a promo code. Did I miss that somewhere?
Oof. Same here, even when logged in. Looks like the promo code is 58031. And hopefully this registration link will work: https://www.ihg.com/rewardsclub/us/en/offers/promoreg/?offerCode=58031&promoCode=58031&offerId=Q9000&scmisc=WEB-_-6C-_-GLO-_-EN-_-LOY-_-2X2020-_-PageCTA-_-HeaderImage
I have IHG and I really like the convenience. It’s nice to be able to cancel all your reservations with only one phone call. Good deal.
Just signed up. Sometimes have to stay in a hotel for work now, build points now and hope to travel later.
More than promos to earn I would prefer promos to spend.
This is even more true after the end of the PointBreaks promo.
I won’t be able to pad my balance with this offer, but I finally dipped below 5/24 and picked up the Premier card, so I should be flush with points by the time travel gets close to normal again. Thanks!
I really wonder who is actually able to take advantage of these amazing offers?
I definitely understand your envy and share it, but consider the fact that many of the folks taking advantage of these offers are likely being forced to travel for one reason or another – they’re essential workers; it’s an emergency; or they feel compelled to maintain job security, etc. – in what many consider somewhat unsafe conditions.
Someone like me who lives in an IHG hotel.
Hope I feel comfortable traveling soon so I can utilize this bonus.
Its only foe US residents? What happens with foreigner residents?
We tried looking for a while for offers available to non-US residents and couldn’t find anything currently available. Let us know if you see something on your account though!
This is a really good offer for those that are eligible. It is a shame it is restricted and not worldwide.
Does this apply to all brands and countries?
Looks like it. There are no brand or country restrictions in the T&C: https://www.ihg.com/content/us/en/deals/member-offers/4×2020/tc
Americans can earn more IHG points from vacationing in the USA this summer since the borders are pretty much closed.
Does
Bonus points get multiplied as well. Or only stayed poitns.
Only the Base Points are multiplied. Elite members won’t get 2-4X bonus on elite bonuses.
Always sign up. You never know when travel plans will be needed.
I realy love IHG over other Hotel brands, thanks
Thank you IHG, I will start making bookings at your properties
