Chase has added eligibility restrictions to the consumer versions of its Southwest Credit Cards. The new eligibility criteria affect the Southwest Rapid Rewards® Plus Credit Card, Southwest Rapid Rewards® Premier Credit Card, and Southwest Rapid Rewards® Priority Credit Card. The change may make getting the Southwest Companion Pass a little more difficult going forward.

Airbnb has introduced the ability to split your payments for a stay. The new system, called “Pay Less Upfront”, came into effect January 15, 2018. According to the Airbnb press release, the functionality comes in response to the fact that 40% of its customers opted to use this option in testing. Most of those who opted for a split payment also opted to take up higher priced bookings when making a split payment.

Singapore has announced changes to its fare bundles, which come into effect as of January 20, 2018. The new changes see Singapore introducing new types of fares for different classes of travel as well as tinker with baggage allowances, seat allocations, and mileage earning.

As of January 1, 2018, the default cancellation policy for Hyatt reservations changes from 24 to 48 hours. Word of Hyatt Explorist and Globalist members will still be able to cancel within 24 hours, with certain exceptions.

American Express has modified the terms and conditions of its Delta, Hilton and Starwood co-brand credit cards. The amendment adds an up to 12 weeks clause for rewards posting to your account and is effective November 1, 2017.

Sadly, Marriott and SPG have made a change to their cancellation policy, and it is not good news. Effective June 15, 2017, the hotels will be imposing a cancellation fee on cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance. The new policy will see you charged for the first night including taxes and fees if you cancel less than 48 hours in advance.
