With Portugal's growing popularity as an international destination, Cardless, American Express, and TAP Portugal have partnered together to launch a new credit card in the United States.
- 3x miles on Tap Portugal Airlines purchases
- 2x on car rentals, hotels, and rideshare
- 1x on other purchases
Cardless offers digital access to credit cards and instant use of your card's number after approval for your new card, allowing you to start using it right away. This is only the second credit card from Cardless to be backed by American Express, coming after the co-branded partnership with Simon Malls.
TAP Portugal is the country's largest carrier, serving over 80 destinations in more than 30 countries across Europe, North America, Africa, and the Middle East. It's also part of Star Alliance, offering numerous partner connections to further destinations.
New TAP Miles&Go American Express® Credit Card
The new TAP Miles&Go American Express® Credit Card has a $79 annual fee. Cardholders enjoy the following benefits:
- Preferred boarding on TAP flights

When making purchases with the TAP Miles&Go Amex Card, you'll earn:
- 3x miles on Tap Portugal Airlines purchases
- 2x on car rentals, hotels, and rideshare

New applicants can take home a valuable welcome bonus. Earn 40,000 bonus miles after spending $2,500 in the first 90 days.
Some of our favorite uses of TAP miles include San Francisco to Lisbon in economy class (where flights can regularly cost over $1,000) and business-class flight redemptions from the U.S. to Asia or Oceania using TAP's Star Alliance partners.
Our Take
Additional options for earning miles with a new airline are always great. Do note that TAP Miles & Go miles expire three years after you earn them, and we'll have to see whether the airline adjusts this policy to waive expiration for cardholders.
Additional methods for acquiring TAP miles include transfers from Capital One, transfers from Marriott Bonvoy, and the occasional promotion to buy miles at a discount.
