It's not just airlines and hotels that offer status matches; cruise lines do, too. And Virgin Voyages is once again accepting status match applications through October 31, 2025. Virgin Voyages Sailing Club members can book a cruise and then status match from another cruise loyalty program — or even Virgin Atlantic Flying Club itself.
Here are the details of this offer and how to request your match.
Virgin Voyages Sailing Club Now Accepting Status Matches
Virgin Voyages occasionally offers a status match opportunity, such as right now. Sometimes members can match from other cruise loyalty programs, and sometimes it's from airline and hotel loyalty programs. This time around, members can match an existing elite status with another cruise loyalty program or Virgin Atlantic Flying Club.
Specifically, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club Gold status is valid for this status match. Presumably, this means you can status match to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club Gold status and then use that status to gain Blue Extras status with Virgin Voyages.
After status matching, Virgin Voyages Sailing Club members will receive Blue Extras perks with their next cruise. Members normally unlock Blue Extras status on their third voyage. As such, this offer specifically benefits travelers taking their first or second Virgin Voyages cruise.
Previous versions of this promotion had restrictions, such as requiring a new cruise booking at the lock-it-in rate. Currently, no such restrictions are mentioned. In fact, the offer only states that you must apply for your status match by October 31, 2025. Thus, existing bookings of any date might be eligible as long as you apply by October 31.
Currently, Virgin Voyages offers over 400 cruises available for booking. Members should be able to combine this promotion with other existing offers, such as booking a cruise for as few as 280,000 points or as little as $149 per person per night.
How to file your Voyage Cruises status match
To claim your Blue Extras perks starting on your first cruise, fill out this form by midnight on October 31, 2025. You must submit your name, email address, booking reference for your purchased cruise, current loyalty program name and tier, and proof of loyalty status.

You can status match from any elite status tier (not general membership status) from the following cruise and Virgin programs:

- Have a Virgin Voyages cruise booked. You'll need to enter the booking reference in the status match form.
- Submit your status match application by October 31, 2025, and at least seven days prior to departure.
- Receive Blue Extras perks on your voyage.
- Continue to receive Blue Extras perks until you unlock Deep Blue Extras with your fifth voyage.
- Some voyages are excluded from earning towards perks packages. Any benefits from a status match are not available on such voyages.
Perks of Virgin Voyages Blue Extras
Blue Extras perks are normally awarded after completing two voyages with Virgin Cruises and apply to the third and fourth voyages before you earn Deep Blue Extras on your fifth voyage.
On top of what you get from being a Sailing Club member, Blue Extras perks include a free cup of specialty coffee per day, an exclusive cocktail event, one free bag of laundry, and dedicated Sailor Services support.
Our Take
This is a nice chance to book a Virgin Voyages cruise with upgraded perks. Cruise status-match opportunities don't come around too often; this is the first offer we've seen this year for Virgin Voyages.
The real caveat here is that you must have elite status with another cruise program or the Virgin Atlantic Flying Club. If you don't have either of those, you could match from one of several airlines to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club Gold status and then apply that for this promotion.
Getting a free cup of specialty coffee, laundry, and access to the cocktail event are nice perks to receive on what might be your first Virgin Voyage. Just note that you shouldn't wait until your departure to submit your request. All status match requests must be submitted at least seven days before departure — and before October 31, 2025.
