Hyatt Business Card Welcome Bonus

New cardholders can earn 80,000 World of Hyatt points – after you spend $10,000 on purchases in your first 3 months from account opening.

While this bonus may not look as valuable as other hotel credit cards sporting six-figure sign-up offers, you should receive a much higher return compared to competing hotel programs as Hyatt points are worth approximately 2.19¢ each, based on AwardWallet user redemptions. That makes this bonus worth around $1,750!

Chase Hyatt Business Card Benefits

The Hyatt Business Card does not offer a complimentary annual free night award certificate, but has many excellent perks that match its personal card counterpart, The World of Hyatt Credit Card (Rates & Fees). This card also offers a few unique benefits only available on the business version — such as annual statement credits and redemption bonus. Here's an overview of what this card has to offer.

Automatic Discoverist status

Cardholders get complimentary Discoverist status upon approval for the Hyatt Business Card. Discoverist status includes perks like: premium internet, free daily bottled water, space-available room upgrades, an elite check-in desk, and 2 p.m. late checkout (subject to availability). Even better, you can gift Discoverist status to up to five employees.

Spend your way to a higher elite status

If you're looking to earn a status higher than Discoverist, the Hyatt Business Card offers a fast track to Explorist and Globalist status. For every $10,000 you spend on the card in a calendar year, you'll earn 5 tier-qualifying credits — with no limit to the number of nights you can accumulate. For comparison, the personal World of Hyatt Card offers 2 tier-qualifying credits for every $5,000 you spend in a calendar year.

Explorist status usually requires 30 elite night credits, and Globalist status requires 60 nights, so the five night credits for every $10,000 spent gives the business card an edge for those who plan to use this perk to rack up a significant number of elite nights.

Up to $100 annual Hyatt credit

You can receive up to $100 in Hyatt credits each cardholder anniversary year. The $100 is split into $50 statement credits for qualified purchases. Those purchases are single transactions made at participating Hyatt hotels and resorts, which would include hotel stays and other purchases you charge to the room.

10% Bonus Point Redemption Bonus

You and any employee(s) collectively spend $50,000 in a calendar year to get 10% on up to a total of 200,000 of your redeemed points for the rest of the year.

Hyatt Leverage membership

Cardmembers of the Hyatt Business also have access to Hyatt Leverage, Hyatt's business travel program. It offers special rates to qualifying small and mid-sized businesses at participating Hyatt program hotels across the globe.

Travel and Purchase Protections

  • Primary rental car collision damage waiver.
  • Extended warranty protection.
  • Purchase protection.
  • Trip cancellation/travel interruption insurance.
  • Travel and emergency assistance services.

Hyatt Business Card Earning Rates

Earning points on the Hyatt Business Card is pretty lucrative, as the earning rates adapt to your spending automatically and offer an uncapped set of bonus categories for each dollar spent with the card. That is how you can earn compensation from using your card:

  • Up to 9X total points per $1 spent at Hyatt – 4X points per $1 on qualifying purchases when you use your card at Hyatt hotels & 5X points per $1 you can earn as a World of Hyatt member
  • 2X points per $1 spent on fitness club and gym memberships
  • 1X point per $1 everywhere else

In addition, you'll earn 2X points per $1 spent in your top three spend categories each quarter. Eligible categories include:
  • Dining
  • Shipping
  • Airline tickets when purchased directly with the airline
  • Local transit & commuting
  • Social media & search engine Advertising
  • Car rental agencies
  • Gas stations
  • Internet, cable & phone services

For the 2X points benefit on your top three spending categories, you'll earn 1 Hyatt point when you make your purchase. Then, at the end of the quarter, Chase will determine your top purchase categories and award an additional bonus point for those purchases.

Redeeming Points With the Hyatt Business Card

Free nights

The Hyatt Business Card makes it easier to enjoy complimentary stays at Hyatt properties. Cardholders can redeem points for free nights at participating hotels and resorts, including standard rooms, suites, and Club-level accommodations.

In addition to standard room redemptions, points can also be used for room upgrades on paid stays, which can be especially valuable at higher-category properties or for premium accommodations. This flexibility allows you to tailor your rewards to your travel preferences.

Points + Cash rates

Hyatt also offers Points + Cash rates with its Pay My Way feature. This option lets you book a stay by paying 50% of the usual points required, plus a reduced cash rate of typically 50%–70% off the standard price for the room selected. This usually means your points will be worth less than a full redemption.

Other ways to redeem World of Hyatt points

While using Hyatt points for free night awards undoubtedly offers the best value, there are several other ways to use your points. Points can be used for on-property dining and spa services at participating locations, though they are only worth 1 cent each up to $75, then as much as 1.54 cents apiece for higher redemptions.

Another opportunity is redeeming Hyatt points for FIND experiences, which would fetch around 1.4 cents per point. Cardholders can also redeem Hyatt points for American Airlines “AAdvantage status for a day” — a benefit introduced in 2025 that allows Explorist and Globalist members to experience the benefits of an elite status with American Airlines for a day they choose. AA elite status includes benefits like complimentary upgrades (subject to availability), priority check-in, security, and boarding, and additional baggage allowances for that day.

And finally, you can transfer Hyatt points to airline miles and redeem Hyatt points for Avis car rentals. However, the latter is a very poor value at 6,000 points per day for an intermediate-sized car, and you generally lose on transfers to airline miles as well.

Application Restrictions and Strategy

Chase is known for its tight restrictions when it comes to opening new accounts. To qualify for the welcome bonus, you cannot currently have the Hyatt Business Card or have previously received a welcome bonus for it in the past 24 months. But it is worth noting that you can still get the Hyatt Business Card even if you already hold a personal Hyatt card.

Plus, as with all the cards in the Chase world, the Hyatt Business Card is subject to Chase's 5/24 policy. This policy restricts the approval of new Chase credit cards to those who have opened fewer than five personal credit cards in the previous 24 months.

Cards That Compete With the Hyatt Business Card

Unsure if the Hyatt Business Card is right for you? Here are some of the card's closest competitors, which can help you make a more informed decision:

  • If you want more flexible rewards you can use with Hyatt and other programs, look into the Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card (Rates & Fees). It earns transferable Ultimate Rewards points, which you can transfer 1:1 to Hyatt but also can use with airlines, other hotels, or the Chase Travel℠ portal. It won't provide any direct benefits at Hyatt, though it can be a great way to earn Hyatt points.
  • If you want a hotel credit card but aren't loyal to Hyatt, consider the IHG One Rewards Premier Business Credit Card (Rates & Fees). Cardholders receive mid-tier Platinum Elite status with IHG One Rewards, plus you can spend your way to top-tier Diamond Elite status.
  • If you're over 5/24 with Chase and want a hotel card, check out the Marriott Bonvoy Business® American Express® Card. You'll receive complimentary Marriott  Bonvoy® Gold Elite status, a free night award each year (worth up to 35,000 points), and up to 7% off paid rates with this card.
