For frequent Delta flyers, the Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card is one of the most compelling airline cards available. Between lounge access, an annual Companion Certificate, and a path toward Medallion status, it offers several ways to justify its premium price tag.

Now, Delta and American Express have launched a welcome offer unlike any we’ve seen on this card. Through November 4, 2026, this limited time offer lets eligible new applicants earn two round-trip Delta Comfort Flight Certificates plus 50,000 bonus miles after meeting spending requirements. Terms apply.

Depending on how you redeem the certificates, this offer could be worth more than even the largest mileage-only bonuses we’ve seen on the Delta Reserve. Here’s what you need to know to decide whether it makes sense for you.

Delta Reserve Limited Time Offer: 2 Round-Trip Flights + 50k Miles

This new Delta Reserve welcome offer has two components. After you meet the spending requirement, you’ll earn:

  • Two round-trip Delta Comfort Flight Certificates valid for travel to the U.S. 48, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
  • 50,000 bonus Delta SkyMiles.

You must spend $10,000 in eligible purchases in your first six months of Card Membership to earn this welcome offer. The offer ends on November 4, 2026.

The Flight Certificates are valid for Delta Comfort or Delta Main, with no blackout dates. However, you must book at least 21 days before departure. Taxes and fees of up to $80 per person apply, along with other restrictions. And because the certificates are limited to the U.S. 48, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, you can’t use them for trips to Alaska, Hawaii, or foreign destinations.

What is this Delta Reserve offer worth?

The 50,000-mile portion of this offer is worth about $675 based on recent AwardWallet user redemptions. The value of the two Flight Certificates depends entirely on how you use them.

That makes this offer more complicated to compare with previous Delta Reserve offers. The card’s best mileage-only welcome offer reached 125,000 bonus miles. This offer provides 75,000 fewer miles, but replaces them with two round-trip Delta Comfort Flight Certificates.

Based on recent AwardWallet user redemptions, those 75,000 miles are worth roughly $1,000. That means the two Flight Certificates would need to save you about $500 apiece for this offer to beat the card’s best mileage-only bonus. That’s certainly possible on expensive Delta Comfort itineraries.

This offer will be most valuable if you already have expensive, eligible Delta Comfort travel in mind. If you would redeem the certificates for short, inexpensive flights, a larger mileage-only offer might provide more flexibility and value.

Why Get the Delta Reserve?

A lucrative welcome offer can make the first year compelling, but the Delta Reserve needs to earn its place in your wallet after that. The card charges a $650 annual fee (Rates & Fees), so it makes the most sense for travelers who fly Delta regularly and can use several of its premium benefits.

Here are the card’s most valuable ongoing perks:

  • Delta Sky Club® access: Receive 15 Delta Sky Club visits each Medallion Year when flying Delta, plus four one-time guest passes. You can unlock unlimited visits after spending $75,000 in eligible purchases on the Card in a calendar year.
  • Annual Companion Certificate: Each year after renewing your Card, you’ll receive a Companion Certificate valid for a round-trip Delta First, Delta Comfort, or Delta Main itinerary within the U.S., the Caribbean, or Central America. Government-imposed taxes and fees of $22–$250 apply for itineraries with up to four flight segments, along with other restrictions.
  • Head start toward Delta elite status: Receive $2,500 Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs) each Medallion Qualification Year through MQD Headstart. You’ll also earn $1 MQD for each $10 in eligible purchases with MQD Boost.
  • Delta award discounts: Get 15% off award travel on Delta-operated flights booked through Delta.com or the Fly Delta app. The discount doesn’t apply to partner-operated flights or taxes and fees.
  • Delta travel perks: Receive a free first checked bag on Delta flights worldwide, a second free checked bag on domestic Delta flights, Zone 5 priority boarding, and higher upgrade priority, subject to Delta’s standard upgrade hierarchy.
  • Up to $560 in annual statement credits: Get up to $200 back each calendar year on eligible prepaid Delta Stays bookings, up to $240 annually at qualifying U.S. Resy restaurants, and up to $120 annually on eligible U.S. rideshare purchases with select providers. The Resy and rideshare benefits are distributed as monthly credits, and enrollment is required.

The Delta Reserve also earns 3X miles on purchases made directly with Delta and 1 mile on all other eligible purchases. Those earning rates aren’t the reason to get the card. Its value lies in the Delta-specific benefits — and, during this offer, the chance to earn two round-trip Flight Certificates plus 50,000 bonus miles.

Delta Reserve Application Restrictions

Before applying, make sure you’re eligible for the welcome offer. American Express states that you may not be eligible if you have or have had the Delta Reserve or a previous version of the Card. Amex also may consider other factors, including your history with balance transfers, your history as an American Express Card Member, and the number of credit cards you have opened and closed.

Importantly, the Delta Reserve’s current terms don’t list having the Delta Gold Card or Delta Platinum Amex as an automatic disqualifier. That means the Reserve generally sits at the end of the optimal application order if you hope to earn welcome offers on multiple personal Delta cards.

If Amex determines that you aren’t eligible for the welcome offer, it generally will display a pop-up before processing your application. You can then withdraw your application rather than open the card without earning the bonus.

Bottom Line

This is easily the most interesting Delta Reserve welcome offer we’ve seen. Instead of simply increasing the mileage bonus, Amex is offering two round-trip Delta Comfort Flight Certificates alongside 50,000 bonus miles.

The $10,000 spending requirement is a meaningful hurdle, and this won’t be the best offer for travelers who can’t fully use the certificates. But if you can meet the requirement without overspending and redeem both certificates for expensive Delta Comfort itineraries, the offer could deliver more value than the card’s previous mileage-only bonuses.

Add in the Delta Reserve’s lounge access, annual Companion Certificate, elite-status benefits, and statement credits, and this is a strong time for the right Delta traveler to apply.
