Who’s Eligible for the Bonus Offers on the IHG Credit Cards?
If you already hold one of the IHG personal credit cards, you can't apply for a different IHG personal card. This is a relatively new restriction on the “IHG family” of consumer cards, which includes the IHG® Rewards Select Credit Card (no longer accepting applications), the IHG One Rewards Premier Card, and the IHG One Rewards Card.
To become eligible for a different IHG personal card, you'll need to close your current IHG card. You also need to wait at least 24 months from receiving a new card member bonus.
However, these restrictions apply only to the three consumer IHG cards. If you hold one of the consumer cards, there is no restriction on applying for the IHG One Rewards Business Credit Card — or vice versa.
IHG credit cards are subject to Chase’s 5/24 policy. If you’ve opened five or more personal credit cards in the previous 24 months, you will not be approved for any of these cards. You're also unlikely to be approved for more than two of Chase's cards within a 30-day period.
