Back in February 2024, Hilton announced a new partnership with Small Luxury Hotels — a collection of boutique hotels that were once aligned with Hyatt instead. The initial rollout was slow, but that number greatly expanded to more than 400 properties by early July 2024, and it's jumped up to more than 500 as of December 2025.
The best thing about this partnership is that all of these amazing, one-of-a-kind hotels can be booked using your Hilton Honors points.
Here's what to know about the Hilton partnership with Small Luxury Hotels.
What Is Small Luxury Hotels of the World?
Small Luxury Hotels of the World is a heavily curated collection of independent luxury boutique hotels around the world. Instead of offering one brand standard, it brings together over 700 unique properties — from beachfront villas and countryside estates to city hideaways and castles.
What sets SLH apart is its focus on intimate, one-of-a-kind stays. Most properties are small, often with under 100 rooms, emphasizing personalized service, local character, and a sense of place you won’t get from large chain hotels.
SLH doesn’t own or operate any of these hotels. It merely acts as a seal of approval and a booking platform. In exchange, each property must meet high standards for luxury, service, and uniqueness.

The hotel collection has also become more relevant to points travelers through partnerships, most notably with Hilton, allowing guests to earn and redeem points at select SLH properties.
Hilton's map of SLH properties now looks much better than it did at the outset of this partnership. Small Luxury Hotels are located across the globe — as far north as the Hotel Ranga in Iceland and as far south as Eichardt's Private Hotel in New Zealand.
It's hard to deny that each property looks stunning. All in all, SLH is an excellent addition to the Hilton portfolio. We're glad to see so many properties now be part of Hilton Honors.

What Hilton Honors Elite Benefits Apply to SLH Stays?
It's not all just points when it comes to this Hilton-SLH partnership. Benefits are also in store for Silver, Gold, Diamond, and Diamond Reserve elites — the latter three enjoying space-available complimentary upgrades. And on top of that, elites can leverage Hilton's fifth night free benefit on standard room awards.
Diamond Reserve elites, sadly, do not receive Confirmable Upgrade Rewards at SLH properties and are mostly treated to the same standards as Diamonds.

What Are Hilton Honors Points Worth Toward SLH Stays?
With the addition of Small Luxury Hotels, Hilton Honors members can now redeem points for stays in participating hotels. The perks plus the properties available are sufficient to warrant booking with cash. But what about points? If you're looking to redeem your Hilton Honors points or put a welcome offer courtesy of a Hilton credit card to good use, should you do so at an SLH property?
Let's crunch the numbers.
As a point of reference, AwardWallet users redeem each Hilton point for 0.61¢. Generally speaking, you'll be in good shape if you can redeem your points for a value greater than that — or at least close to it.
For example, you can book a night at the Siringit Villa near Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, for as little as $515. Hilton will charge you 70,000 points for the same night. This comes out to 0.74 cents per point, which amounts to a smart use of Hilton points.

However, no two properties offer the same value. The Taru Villas Levita in Sri Lanka, for example, can cost as little as $260 per night — or 65,000 points. This is closer to 0.40 cents per point, which is below the average redemption value for Hilton Honors points.

Premium rooms are worth avoiding at all costs. At the properties above (and all other Hilton/SLH properties, for that matter), the cash cost is incrementally higher than the standard room, but the points cost is exponentially higher.

Earning Hilton Points at SLH
Just like with all other brands under the Hilton Honors banner, points earning depends on three factors: the Hilton brand you're staying at, the dollar amount spent, and your status within the program. The higher the tier, the more rewarding your stays become. At SLH hotels, members earn the following rates:
- Members earn 10 points per dollar spent.
- Silver members earn 12 points per dollar spent.
- Gold members will earn 18 points per dollar spent.
- Diamond members get 20 points per dollar spent.
- Diamond Reserve members earn a whopping 22 points per dollar spent.
Bottom Line
The inclusion of SLH properties into Hilton's portfolio is great news for Hilton Honors members. Over 500 Small Luxury Hotels properties have been made available to Hilton members and are now bookable through Hilton channels. And some properties are well worth the redemption costs.
