Wyndham Hotels is expanding with the addition of a new collection of vacation rentals called Homes & Havens. At launch, the brand included nearly 800 properties worldwide, but it's growing quickly. Less than a week after the announcement, it has already more than doubled in size.

Here's everything you need to know about Homes & Havens, including how to earn and redeem Wyndham Rewards points on your next vacation rental.

What Is Homes & Havens?

Homes & Havens is a collection of professionally managed homes and distinctive stays, ranging from large villas to stylish condos and everything in between.

Homes & Havens properties are available worldwide. At the time of writing, over 1,400 properties are available in the U.S., while countries in Europe and the Caribbean have anywhere from one or two properties to 80+. However, Wyndham has indicated that hundreds more properties will be available in the coming months.

Wyndham members can earn points on cash stays and book multi-bedroom properties using Wyndham Rewards points. Here's how.

Earning and Redeeming Points at Homes & Havens

Wyndham members can earn 5 points per dollar on all Homes & Havens eligible bookings. Plus, stays count toward earning Wyndham status.

Redeeming points for these vacation rental properties is a little more complicated. Much like the now-ended Vacasa Vacation rental agreement, you can book Homes & Havens properties using points on a per-bedroom basis. This is based on three tiers as follows:

  • 15,000 points per bedroom, per night
  • 30,000 points per bedroom, per night
  • 45,000 points per bedroom, per night

So, a two-bedroom property at the lowest tier would be 30,000 Wyndham points per night. Wyndham said a 5,000-point tier is expected to become available as the collection expands, which would be an affordable way to travel with a large family or friend group.

Unfortunately, these redemptions can only be booked using points by contacting Wyndham Rewards Member Services at least 60 days in advance. Select properties will require an online reservation request followed by outreach from a reservation specialist.

Note that award bookings cover only the base rate and exclude taxes, cleaning fees, and other mandatory charges. Some properties may require a minimum stay of three to seven nights.

How To Earn Wyndham Rewards Points

Besides earning Wyndham points from hotel stays, Barclays offers several co-branded credit cards that can help you replenish your Wyndham points. The Wyndham Rewards Earner® Card, Wyndham Rewards Earner® Plus Card, Wyndham Rewards Earner® Premier Card, and Wyndham Rewards® Earner℠ Business Card can all be excellent choices depending on how frequently you stay at Wyndham properties.

Plus, you can transfer points to Wyndham from various flexible points:

Don't sleep on buying Wyndham points, either. If you can buy them during a great sale, you may be able to spend less than booking a Homes & Havens property directly with cash.

Bottom Line

The departure of Vacasa rental properties from Wyndham's portfolio was disappointing, but Homes & Havens seems intended to fill the void. The ability to book using Wyndham Rewards points makes these multi-bedroom properties much more accessible, which can be handy for big families.

Note that you have to call to book Homes & Havens, and there may be added fees or minimum-night restrictions. Nevertheless, this brand is worth checking out for your next luxury vacation.
