Each of the past couple of years, Virgin Atlantic has offered a short-lived incentive to get Flying Club members to link their account with Virgin Red. Most recently, targeted emails have gone out with an offer of 6,000 bonus points for Flying Club members who’ve never linked their account to Virgin Red.

This is one of those rare chances to earn bonus points without spending a dime. Here’s the difference between Flying Club and Virgin Red, and if you’ve been targeted, how to claim your bonus points by September 30, 2025.

Virgin Flying Club vs Virgin Red

Flying Club is the loyalty program specifically for Virgin Atlantic. Virgin Red, on the other hand, is the broader rewards program for all Virgin brands.

Virgin Red members can earn and redeem Virgin points with brands including:

  • Virgin Atlantic
  • Virgin Holidays
  • Virgin Media
  • Virgin Money
  • Virgin Wines
  • Virgin Mobile
  • Virgin Voyages
  • and many more

In total, Virgin Red partners with more than 150 brands to earn points and offers more than 200 ways to redeem them. By comparison, Flying Club members only earn points on flights with Virgin Atlantic and its partner airlines and a few other outlets.

Our Take

We don't know how Virgin is targeting these promotions. But, if you're a lucky member, free points just for linking your accounts is an easy win. We always like to see these kinds of offers, similar to when airlines and hotels give bonus points simply for becoming a new member.

AwardWallet members have recently redeemed Virgin Atlantic Flying Club points for an average of 3.64¢ each. While Virgin Red offers some unique redemption options, travelers will usually find the best value through Virgin Atlantic Flying Club. Just keep in mind that not all Virgin Red brands are available to U.S. members.

Regardless, there's no reason not to link your accounts if you're targeted for this offer.
