Howdy to Bonjour: Delta Announces Nonstop Service Between Austin and Paris

Austin Delta flyers can swap “howdy” for “bonjour” starting early next year, with nonstop Paris flights coming in early 2027.

Beginning March 27, 2027, Delta Air Lines will operate daily seasonal flights between Austin (AUS) and Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG), with service running through October 24, 2027.

Delta will operate the route using the Airbus A330-900, which includes all four of its branded cabins: Delta Main, Delta Comfort, Delta Premium Select, and Delta One. Tickets will be available to book starting August 15, 2026. Travelers will be able to pay with cash, redeem Delta SkyMiles, or book through SkyTeam partners for potentially better award travel rates.

Delta Continues Its Expansion in Austin

Austin represents a strategic market opportunity for Delta, which has heavily invested in the Texas capital as a focus city in recent years. The airline opened a brand-new flight attendant base in early 2026, building its claim on Austin as the last member of the Big 3 carriers without a Texas hub.

Delta and American Airlines closely compete as Austin’s second- and third-largest carriers, while Southwest still holds a substantial lead.

“These focus cities have been quite profitable for us, sometimes exceeding that of the hubs,” Delta president Glen Hauenstein said in the airline’s 2025 third-quarter earnings call. He further stated that Austin is a city “we've acquired a lot of [credit] cards in, and we’re trying to understand… how to maximize both of those together.”

The new Austin-to-Paris route represents Austin’s first nonstop option to France, and just one of a handful of nonstop international flights from Austin outside of North America. Austin flyers can also reach Europe directly on KLM via Amsterdam (AMS); on Lufthansa via Frankfurt (FRA); and on British Airways via London Heathrow (LHR).

Paris isn’t Delta’s only new Austin route for 2027. A new daily nonstop between Austin and San Diego (SAN) will begin on April 12, 2027, operated with an Airbus A319, following closely on the heels of a new nonstop from Austin to San Jose (SJC) launching on October 6, 2026.

Travelers who want to escape the overstuffed Austin airport can access the Delta Sky Club, located above Gate 4 on the east side, toward the left when exiting airport security. Plans are in the works for a second, larger Delta Sky Club, and the airline is contracted for 15 gates in the eventual Concourse A after the airport renovation is complete.
