If you are a FoundersCard member, there's a new promotion you should take a look at. United and FoundersCard just teamed up to offer members four months of complimentary United Premier Silver status after meeting certain criteria. You'll also have an opportunity to earn status through January 2027.
Here's what you need to know.
Earn United Premier Silver Through This FoundersCard Promotion
As a FoundersCard member, you can earn four months of complimentary Premier Silver status when you register for the promotion and fly once before May 31, 2026. You can then keep your status through January 2027 by either earning 1,600 Premier qualifying points (PQPs) and 5 Premier qualifying flights (PQFs), or earning 1,800 PQPs.
According to the terms and conditions, you'll need to register for the promotion before booking your flight. Then, you can book a flight operated by United, United Express, Air Canada, All Nippon Airways, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa, or SWISS using the FoundersCard program to be eligible.
Note that you can earn United Premier Qualifying Points on United's partner airlines. That means you don't actually need to fly United to earn complimentary United elite status.
Premier Silver overview
Earning Premier Silver status normally requires earning 5,000 PQP and 15 PQF, or 6,000 PQP. With this promotion, you can enjoy four months of complimentary status after just one flight and a fast track to status for the remainder of the program year. You'll need to earn just one-third of the PQPs normally required to reach status.
Premier Silver is the first tier of United elite status, and comes with a few notable benefits:
- Complimentary Economy Plus seating at check-in (when available)
- Complimentary Premier Upgrades, confirmed as early as the day of departure
- One free checked bag (up to 70 lbs)
- Earn 7 MileagePlus miles per $1 spent on United flights
Why sign up for FoundersCard?
If you haven't already signed up for a FoundersCard membership, it's worth considering. Apart from the new United elite status promotion, you receive a ton of benefits in exchange for a $595 annual fee, including:
