Wyndham has quietly renewed one of the best status match offers around, once again with little fanfare. With this promotion, you can match into the Wyndham Rewards program with as little as a one-night stay and even unlock top-tier Diamond status with just 10 nights.
Here's how it works and the steps to match your hotel elite status to Wyndham for free.

Wyndham Status Match Overview
Like many other hotel status matches, Wyndham Rewards' offer is simple: match your current eligible hotel elite status to Wyndham at no cost, enjoy complimentary status for 90 days, and extend it by completing a challenge.

Which hotel elite statuses match to Wyndham?
At the time of writing, Wyndham accepts status matches from eight different hotel programs. What makes this offer stand out is that you can qualify for Wyndham elite status even if you're only a general member in one of these programs, as shown in the table below.
| Wyndham Gold Status | Wyndham Platinum Status | Wyndham Diamond Status | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Best Western Rewards | Blue | Gold, Platinum, Diamond | Diamond Select |
| Choice Privileges | Member | Gold, Platinum | Diamond |
| Hilton Honors | Member | Silver | Gold, Diamond |
| IHG One Rewards | Member | Silver Elite, Gold Elite | Platinum Elite, Diamond Elite |
| Marriott Bonvoy | Member | Silver Elite | Gold Elite, Platinum Elite, Titanium Elite, Ambassador Elite |
| Omni Select Guest | Insider | Champion | Icon |
| Radisson Rewards | Club | Premium | VIP |
| World of Hyatt | Member | Discoverist, Explorist | Globalist |
To match to Wyndham, click here and log into your Wyndham account. Then fill out the brief form with your loyalty program details, membership verification, and Wyndham account information.
After clicking “Match My Status,” you should hear back from Wyndham in about a week — though it will likely be sooner than that.
Extend your trial Wyndham status by earning Qualifying Nights
Ninety days isn’t much time to enjoy hotel elite status, which is why it’s worth taking steps to extend it beyond the trial period by earning Qualifying Nights. If you complete a status match to Wyndham, here’s how many nights you’ll need to keep your status:
- Gold: 1 Qualifying Night
- Platinum: 4 Qualifying Nights
- Diamond: 10 Qualifying Nights

Keep in mind that a Qualifying Night can be any of the following: a night during a Qualified Stay at a participating property with an average nightly rate of at least $25 USD, a Free Night at a participating property, or a Discounted Night booked with Points + Cash.
Once you meet the stay requirements, your matched status is extended through the end of the following calendar year. For example, if you complete the challenge in July 2025, your status will be valid through December 31, 2026. But if you wait and complete the challenge in January 2026, you’ll keep your status through December 31, 2027.
That said, the promotion could end at any time. So, while waiting could get you status for longer, it also comes with some risk.
Other Ways to Earn Wyndham Elite Status
This very generous promotion gives you an excellent opportunity to leverage your status from other programs — even if your elite status is through credit card membership instead of nights in beds.
For instance, holders of the Marriott Bonvoy Bevy® American Express® Card and the Marriott Bonvoy Bountiful™ Card both receive Marriot Bonvoy Gold status, which matches to Wyndham Diamond.
In the same way, holders of the IHG One Rewards Premier Credit Card (Rates & Fees) receive IHG One Rewards Platinum Elite status, which also matches to Wyndham Diamond.
Remember, if you hold the American Express Platinum Card® or The Business Platinum Card® from American Express, you can enroll for Hilton Honors™ Gold and Marriott Bonvoy Gold. Both match to Wyndham Diamond. Enrollment is required for select Amex benefits.
If you're looking for a shortcut to Wyndham Rewards Diamond status, remember that's a built-in perk for those with the Wyndham Rewards® Earner℠ Business Card. It comes with a $95 annual fee and is issued by Barclays in the U.S.

Our Take
The Wyndham status match offer provides brilliant value, and the fact Wyndham keeps extending this offer is great news. Any time you can leverage status with one program for status and benefits with another, the points and miles gods are smiling upon you.
Remember, if you plan on taking advantage of this promotion, you need to plan your stays well in advance. You can only use this shortcut once, and your 90-day countdown is live and the clock is ticking once you match. Therefore, you need to know you'll complete the required stays to retain your status through the end of the following year. If interested, you can register for this offer here.

Only downside is you have to stay at a Wyndham hotel! Seriously, why even bother? Had this for years status matched to my Caesars Diamond account (got it from gambling not as a match). Stayed at maybe a handful of Wyndham properties over the years. All were forgetful, some were dreadful and there really are no material benefits to elite status so, frankly, why bother?! I’m lifetime Marriott Titanium and currently Hilton Diamond, IHG Platinum and Hyatt Explorist. Plus I stay in Chase “The Edit” and Amex FHR properties. Not sure why I would ever lower myself to Wyndham.
Do the stays to maintain status need to be paid stays? Or can they be award stays?
Mark – You can read how Wyndham defines “qualifying nights” in the terms below, but basically it’s a paid stay without a group discount/a publicly available rate.

Match from my IHG received through my credit cards. Nice!
Hi applied for the status match from my Hilton Honors Gold Status.
Everything was ok and very rapid.
Although I’ve chosen Choice as my new home from July 2019, I think I’m going to go for this.
I only have a 3-night stay coming up, but it costs nothing.
The automatic match sounds like a no-brainer. Would it be for a year or until say my Marriott status lasts?
This sounds like great match!!!
the new status showed up the same day
I wonder if it matters how you got the status with the other hotel chain? If you’ve gotten through a credit card, do you think it counts?
Since status matches are usually just once I’d have to really think about it if I would get several stays there.
If I ask the match for Platinum and I don’t reach the 9 minimum nights I’ll lose the status.
Will I be downgraded to Gold?
Otherwise I’ll ask for Gold directly.
Please find out and let us know.
From what I understand, if you take Gold it is valid for the next year without extra requirements. If you take platinum and don’t make the 7 nights, the situation is unclear.
As I am not going to be doing the 7 nights, I’ll just take the Gold (matched from my Hilton Gold instead of my IHG Plat).
Exactly. Neither do I want to waste my probably one-off Wyndham status match opportunity when I have no future stays lined up.
Can anyone confirm if status match with Wýndham is only once per lifetime.
Status matches are usually only offered once, so I will resist the temptation to sign up now while I have no plans to stay at Wyndham anytime soon
That’s a good point, although often it is possible to attempt/receive a status match more than once, particularly the ones with require stays to retain status. Any reason to think Windham is limiting this to once-in-a-lifetime?
Yea makes sense. Only do this when you actually have stays lined up.
I’ve used Wyndham quite a few times and find them perfectly fine. This status match might be worth going for.
Are the Wyndham premium membership levels really worth it?
Wyndham has nearly 8000 hotels worldwide. This could be really useful. Thanks for posting
Unfortunately the ones in our area are not that outstanding.
Yes, I feel like, from my experience at least, no other hotel chain has such an uneven mixture of properties. Some areas have outstanding Wyndham hotels and other locations only have seemingly neglected, forgotten properties.
I made this error with Delta with the status match and lost out on a full year.
If you can, hold your fire and try to get it thru 2020
Are the perks with this status match immediate or is it kind of like a provisional status with only limited benefits until you make the necessary stays?
You receive status and full benefits for the provisional period, regardless of if you complete any requirements.
