Booking flights and hotels separately isn’t always the best move. It can make sense to book a combined package if you’re trying to save time, simplify planning, or earn elite status along the way.
That’s where Delta Vacations comes in. The platform lets you bundle flights, hotels, and more into a single booking, often with competitive pricing and the added benefit of earning Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs) on the full package.
But like most vacation portals, the value isn’t always obvious. In some cases, bundling can save money or boost your status progress. In others, you may be better off booking each piece separately.
Here’s how Delta Vacations works — and when it makes sense to use it.
What Is Delta Vacations?
Like Southwest Vacations and Alaska Vacations, Delta’s package portal lets travelers bundle a flight and hotel into one reservation rather than booking each piece separately. Travelers can also add car rentals and activities.
In 2023, Delta refreshed the platform with an improved booking interface and boosted the value of redeeming SkyMiles toward packages. Pricing can be competitive — especially when Delta layers in limited-time promotions designed to encourage bundling. Even better for frequent flyers, packages that include flights qualify toward Medallion status, meaning you’ll earn MQDs on the total package price.
If you're looking for other ways to boost your Delta MQDs, several Delta credit cards offer a MQD Boost plus the ability to earn MQDs through card spending. Here are some of the top options:

$350Rates & Fees
(Terms apply)
- 3X miles per dollar spent on purchases made directly with Delta
- 3X miles per dollar at hotels
- 2X miles per dollar at U.S. supermarkets
- 2X Miles per dollar at restaurants worldwide, plus takeout and delivery in the U.S.
- 1 mile on every eligible dollar spent on purchases.

$650Rates & Fees
(Terms apply)
- 3X miles per dollar spent on purchases made directly with Delta
- 1X miles on every eligible dollar spent on purchases.

$650Rates & Fees
- 3X miles per dollar spent on purchases made directly with Delta
- 1.5X miles per dollar on eligible transit, U.S. shipping, and U.S. office supply store purchases, plus all eligible purchases after spending $150K per calendar year
- 1 mile on every dollar spent on all other eligible purchases.
One important detail: not every segment has to be flown by Delta. As long as at least one segment is flown by Delta Air Lines, the remaining legs may be operated by Delta Connection carriers, SkyTeam members, or other Delta partner airlines.

Delta Vacations Booking Process
Booking with Delta Vacations is a straightforward process. Like flight searches, SkyMiles members enter details about their prospective trip. The example below explores a trip from Seattle to Cancun for one week later this year:

Once submitted, search results populate quickly. With the Flight + Hotel package option selected, members choose their hotel first. Below are just two of the many hotel options available in Cancun.

To redeem miles, just switch from U.S. dollars to Miles. You will still earn MQDs on the total package price when paying with miles. Note that Delta Vacations promo codes don't apply to miles bookings.

Finally, select your preferred room type, flight, and any extras, such as car rental or activities.

Bottom Line
Delta Vacations lets travelers bundle flights and hotels while earning MQDs toward Medallion status. While package pricing isn’t always the cheapest option compared to booking separately, the ability to earn status credit may tip the scales for some travelers.
