Langham Hotels doesn’t have the massive global footprint of Marriott, Hilton, or IHG. Instead, this smaller luxury hospitality group focuses on a more limited collection of high-end properties, with a concentration in Asia and select hotels in Europe and North America.
That smaller footprint makes Langham a niche player in the hotel loyalty world. But if you prefer luxury and your travels regularly take you to cities with Langham or Cordis properties, the Brilliant by Langham program is worth understanding. Members can earn points, redeem for stays, and unlock elite-style perks such as dining discounts, bonus points, room upgrades, late checkout, and welcome amenities at higher tiers.
The catch is that Brilliant by Langham isn’t as straightforward — or as broadly useful — as the major hotel loyalty programs. Here’s what you need to know about the Langham brand, how Brilliant by Langham works, and whether this smaller luxury program deserves a place in your hotel strategy.
What Is the Langham Hotels Brand?
Founded in London in the mid-19th century, the Langham Hotels brand has a long history but a relatively small global footprint today. The group operates four brands across 37 destinations, totaling 48 properties worldwide.
Not all 48 locations are hotels, however. Some are spas and restaurants, leaving 28 hotels:
- 18 Langham hotels
- 9 Cordis brand properties
- The Chelsea Hotel Toronto
This is a far cry from global hotel brands like Marriott Bonvoy, Hilton Honors, and IHG One Rewards, each of which has thousands of properties worldwide.
Most of Langham's hotels are located in Asia, though the company also has a handful of properties in Europe and the United States.

Unlike many hotel brands, Langham doesn't span a wide range of price points. Instead, its properties are luxurious with high-end facilities, including Michelin-starred restaurants at several properties in Hong Kong.

Redeeming Your Brilliant by Langham Points
Langham uses a dynamic pricing model, which means there is little transparency into how much your award will cost in advance. Several factors — including brand, time of year, and location — determine the award's point price.
One thing to note is that you cannot book reward nights for other people. Reward nights can only be booked for the member. In cases where the member books multiple rooms using points for themselves and their guests, they must occupy one of the rooms. Also, you can book a maximum of three rooms per award booking.
Final Thoughts
The Brilliant by Langham program is very niche and will only be useful to a few Langham fans. The brand has a small footprint, making it suitable only for people who regularly travel to the few destinations it serves.
Also, when considering the investment needed to reach elite status, ask yourself whether you have better luxury options in the destinations Langham serves. Even if you regularly travel to cities served by Langham properties, spending $24,000 to reach elite status with Langham might not be worth it. There are many ways to get hotel elite status for free — or close to free.
If you're spending enough to earn top-tier Langham status, you'll likely get more value with a larger program like Marriott Bonvoy or Hilton Honors, which offer far more redemption options. Still, Brilliant by Langham is worth considering if you're already a loyal Langham guest.
