Chase just launched a new 70% transfer bonus for transferring Chase points to Marriott BonvoyĀ®. Now through November 30, 2025, you'll get 1,700 Marriott points per 1,000 Chase points you transfer over.

While we are always happy to see a transfer bonus, Marriott Bonvoy is one of the least valuable Chase transfer partners. So, transferring Ultimate Rewards points isn't a great deal compared to other uses of your Chase points. However, you might want to take advantage of it for the right situation. Here's when it could make sense.

Chase Transfer Bonus to Marriott Bonvoy

Chase Ultimate Rewards typically transfer to Marriott Bonvoy at a 1:1 ratio. With this promotion, you get a 70% bonus, meaning 1,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points will yield 1,700 Marriott BonvoyĀ® points.

This is a slightly better transfer bonus than we typically see between Chase and Marriott. But, even with a 70% bonus, this still may not be worth taking advantage of.

In recent redemptions by AwardWallet users, Marriott Bonvoy points have provided an average of 0.93Ā¢ per point. Adding on a 70% transfer bonus means you'd get around $14.10 in value for every 1,000 worth of Chase Ultimate Rewards points you transfer — or 1.58 cents per point. That's a pretty reasonable redemption rate, but other Chase transfer partners can provide an even higher value.

If you're interested in taking advantage of this promotion, here's a step-by-step guide on how to transfer Chase points.

  12. 50% transfer bonus through August 15, 2025
  13. 70% transfer bonus through November 30, 2025

As you can see, a 40% to 50% transfer bonus is typical. So, a 70% transfer bonus matches the best we've seen.

Is It Worth Transferring Ultimate Rewards Points to Marriott?

Marriott is one of the largest hotel chains in the world. But even with that many properties, it doesn't make sense to transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points unless you need to top off your Marriott Bonvoy account for a high-value stay.

Need some recommendations? We rounded up over a dozen luxury Marriott properties and a dozen budget Marriott properties that provide more than 1.65 cents per point redemption value. With this 70% transfer bonus, you'd get over 2.8 cents per Chase point in value on average at these properties. That's an incredible redemption rate!

Marriott uses dynamic award pricing, which makes it unpredictable. You won't know exactly how many points you need for a hotel until you start Replaceing, and pricing can vary greatly from one week to the next. However, there are still deals to be found. It might be worth transferring 4k Chase points to book a 6,500-point Marriott stay.

Or you can splurge as few as 66,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points to book an incredible top-tier property like the Al Maha.

Our Take

If you're going to transfer your Chase Ultimate Rewards points to any hotel program, we suggest transferring points to World of Hyatt. Chase points transfer to Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio, and based on recent AwardWallet user redemptions, World of Hyatt points are worth around 2.19Ā¢ per point. Even without a transfer bonus, that's a better value.

However, if you find a good deal or need a few more points for an upcoming redemption, topping off your Marriott account with Chase points might make sense. But remember, this new transfer bonus won't be around long. The 70% Chase Ultimate Rewards transfer bonus ends on November 30, 2025.

I transferred 125k Chase UR for 70k AA for one-way biz class ticket for DFW to HND.

Always good to have options. I probably won’t use it this time around.

The idea to exchange one flexible currency for a second flexible currency. I agree with the article that it wouldn’t be a good deal so I’ll keep my Chase points as they are for now.

It is interesting to see the amount of points purchase and transfer bonus offers that are being offered. This almost seems like everyone is trying to clear out their “liability” on paper.

It almost seems like a devaluation is in the works for credit card points as well.

The bonus is not bad, but highlights that at normal transfer rates its transferring chase to Marriott is not good value.

I like the increase in bonus but I wish it would be 100%. lol! I don’t need Marriott points right now. I am happy see that I could transfer to Cathay Pacific with a bonus from Amex. That will be handy later. I will be keeping an eye out for all their bonuses and take advantage of any that are of benefit to me.

I agree I would only transfer to top up an account that I need to redeem an award.

On the surface it’s great, but still underwhelming when you consider the value of Marriott points, break even at best. Still, there’s value to be had somewhere.

Finally chase is stepping up their points transfer bonuses, now lets see more airline bonuses!

It is only a bonus when you need the Marriott points very soon.

    Bhikhu Shah says:

Great offer! Wish Amex did the same.

A good deal – or an act of desperation? With Marriott going to dynamic pricing, blowing a chunk of UR points on Marriott sounds like a dubious proposition….unless you need to top off your account for a planned redemption, even this offer is not very compelling….Hyatt is a MUCH more valuable transfer partner.

Don – do you remember how long it took for your transfer in the end? I am in the same boat as you – submitted the transfer 2 days ago.

They have some unique airline transfer partners so perhaps there could be some value for very specific cases. Maybe if you needed to top up your Alaska miles for a redemption. However, transfers to airlines are mostly 3:1 with a 5k bonus for every 60k

Not great, but might still have to do this to score a night at a. Otherwise obscenely expensive top tier property. I miss SPG. šŸ™

How long is it taking you guys to transfer. I transferred on Sunday 8/1 and it is today 8/4 and it has not shown up.

This is always an excellent opportunity to transfer some points to Marriott. I think the service from the Marriott hotel chain is too good to miss. I must be on the lookout for the next promotion, thank you very much.

I wonder if they will have more of these to help offload the points people have built up? It’s not bad if you need to transfer something right now to Marriott.

    Bhikhu Shah says:

I would save your chase points unless you need to make a booking with marriott.

1.5 Marriott points per UR point? That ALMOST gets you up to the PYB actual cash out rate – unless you have a CSP I suppose.

      JT Genter says:

Depends on how valuable your Marriott redemption is! šŸ™‚ If you really maximize Bonvoy points for a 5th-night free award, you might be able to get a lot more value from transferring UR to Bonvoy. But yeah, for most redemptions PYB is going to be more valuable.

it’s sad Citi TYP doesn’t or cant’ offer this kind of hotel transfer promotion.

There’s no doubt Citi knows it’s fallen behind the top two programs, AmEx and Chase. I would also like to hear their rationale for not competing more aggressively.

Wonderful opportunity to get more Marriott points. Thanks!

Worth transferring if you have your eye on a particular award stay

I agree with the article; this is better than the transfer of points from AMEX MR rate, but not as attractive as the transfer from Chase UR to Hyatt rate.

    Jennifer says:

I would only transfer from Ultimate Rewards to Marriott Bonvoy if I want to transfer to an airline program.

      Exactly what I’m thinking.

I missed the recent cards by about 12 hours, d’oh!

Sure I love Hyatt but it’s so damn hard to get certain airlines miles, and this is the main benefit or Marriott.

A week at a Hyatt or a sky bed across the globe to see family feeling somewhat ok on arrival?

Hopefully can manage both at some point šŸ™‚

I think most will find that spending 100,000 points on an award night is too much.

I guess if you needed a few airline points To top up your account for a valuable award, and you Couldn’t do it directly through the flexible points, this would be a way. But, I’m sure you wouldn’t get great value from the points.
