For most travelers, JSX isn't a household name. As of March 2025, the air carrier serves just 24 airports in the U.S. and one in Mexico, but what sets it apart is its unique operating model: JSX runs scheduled charter flights. This allows the airline to fly from private terminals, offering passengers a more exclusive experience generally for no more than the cost of first class on a legacy airline.
Instead of having its own loyalty program, JSX partners with United Airlines and JetBlue, letting travelers earn either United MileagePlus miles or JetBlue TrueBlue points on JSX flights. Let’s break down how that works.

What Is JSX?
Originally known as JetSuiteX, JSX is an air carrier that offers a flying experience somewhere between a private charter and a commercial airline.
The carrier leases a fleet of Embraer ERJ-135 and ERJ-145 aircraft, each configured with no more than 30 seats. While the seating is similar to economy plus in terms of legroom, JSX flights come with several additional perks, including:
- Complimentary snacks and drinks on flights (including alcohol).
- Flights depart from and arrive at private terminals, meaning expedited security.
- Two free checked bags on flights, including sporting equipment like golf clubs.
- Pets up to 79lbs are allowed to fly in the cabin.
- In-seat power.

While JSX flights can be pricier than those on traditional carriers, the added convenience and perks can make the extra cost worthwhile. I flew JSX in February 2025, and the experience was seamless.
My flight from Scottsdale Airport in Arizona to Las Vegas departed from a private terminal within walking distance of my house. On arrival, I landed at the private terminal on the Strip side of the airport, which helped cut down on transit costs and time spent in an airport.
JSX doesn’t have its own loyalty program, though it offers a $100 discount on your first flight with a referral code. To earn frequent flyer miles, you'll need to credit your flight to either United MileagePlus or JetBlue TrueBlue.
Earn United MileagePlus Miles With JSX
There are two ways to earn United MileagePlus miles when flying JSX, depending on how you book your ticket. Like most United partners, your mileage earnings will vary based on your booking method.
Book through United
If you book your JSX flight directly through United’s website, your miles are based on the cost of your ticket and your MileagePlus elite status:
- Member: 5x fare
- Premier Silver: 7x fare
- Premier Gold: 8x fare
- Premier Platinum: 9x fare
- Premier 1K: 11x fare
Book through JSX or other channels
If you book directly with JSX or another third-party site, your earnings are based on distance flown and fare class:
- Economy (Y, B, E, M, V, S, D, T): 100% of mileage flown
- Discount economy (W, G, Q): 75% of mileage flown
- Deep-discount economy (N, H, P): 50% of mileage flown
To earn United MileagePlus miles on your JSX flight, ensure your United MileagePlus number is included in your booking.
Don't forget to compare prices before you book
It's also worth noting that pricing can vary depending on where you book. For example, a one-way flight from Scottsdale (SCF) to Las Vegas (LAS) on a Saturday in April costs $259 when booked directly with JSX.

However, booking the same flight via United’s website costs $265. Thus, you'll have to decide if the miles are worth the extra cost of not booking directly with JSX.

On my recent flight, I earned 192 miles for a “Hop On” fare (G class) booked directly with JSX and credited to United.

By contrast, if the same flight were booked through United, a non-elite MileagePlus member would earn 1,200 miles (since United calculates earnings based on fare price, excluding taxes and fees).
You'll also want to be aware that JSX flights don't earn Premier Qualifying Points (PQPs) or Premier Qualifying Flights (PQFs), which means these flights won't count toward elite status. However, you can redeem United MileagePlus miles for JSX flights.
Earn JetBlue TrueBlue Points With JSX
If you prefer, you can earn JetBlue TrueBlue points instead of United miles when flying JSX. However, JetBlue’s earning structure is less rewarding, especially for more expensive fares.
JSX flights earn TrueBlue points at a flat rate:
- All In fares: 250 TrueBlue points
- Hop On fares: 150 TrueBlue points
Like United, JSX flights don't count toward Mosaic elite status qualification. Also, you cannot redeem TrueBlue points for JSX flights.
Bottom Line
JSX offers a more exclusive experience when flying and provides many benefits to its passengers, including two free checked bags. However, JSX doesn't have its own loyalty program; if you want credit for your flights, you'll need to use either United or JetBlue.
Of these options, United provides better earnings than JetBlue's flat-rate offering. You're probably not flying JSX for mileage or status accrual, but these rules and policies are helpful to know for your next JSX flight.
