If you like free things, this one is for you. Through the Bank of America Museums on Us program, select cardholders can visit some of the best museums in the country for free. It really is that simple — visit a museum during a Museums on Us weekend, show your card and a valid ID, and you'll be allowed to soak in all the culture you want.

Here's everything to know about the program, including how to take advantage of it.

What is Bank of America Museums on Us?

Bank of America Museums on Us is a program where cardholders of eligible debit or credit cards can get free general admission to museums across the country during the first full weekend of every month.

There are specific eligibility and terms for each museum, so be sure to check out the details before you arrive. For instance, some museums are only in the program during certain months of the year, while others might offer free admission on Sundays but not Saturdays.

Through the program, you'll receive one free general admission ticket. Note that it typically excludes special exhibitions, but you'll be able to access the rest of the museum. If you're visiting with a friend, they will need to buy their own ticket.

All you need to do is show your active Bank of America credit or debit card, along with a valid government ID, to receive your free ticket.

Which museums are part of Bank of America Museums on Us?

Nearly 240 museums and cultural institutions across the country participate in the Bank of America Museums on Us program. It includes some of the most prestigious museums in the country — including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. You can search the Museums on Us map for a museum near you using either zip code, city, or state.
