With the launch of Atmos Rewards — the new combined Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines loyalty program — Alaska revamped its co-branded Bank of America credit cards. The airline also launched a new premium card: the Atmos™ Rewards Summit Visa Infinite® Card.
One of the new benefits that comes with the Atmos Rewards cards is a 10% Bank of America relationship bonus on all points earned from card spending. Here's everything you need to know about the 10% relationship bonus, including which cards are eligible and how to maximize it.
What is the Atmos Rewards Card 10% Relationship Bonus?
Simply put, if you hold one of the co-branded Bank of America Atmos Rewards credit cards and a Bank of America checking or savings account, you'll earn a 10% bonus on the points earned from card spending each month.
If you have a personal Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards card like the new Atmos™ Rewards Summit Visa Infinite® Card, you'll need a personal Bank of America checking or savings account to be eligible for the 10% bonus. Investment accounts with Merrill also count. For a business Atmos Rewards card, you'll need a business account.

As you can see in the above screenshot, the “relationship bonus” shows up in your Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards points tracker each month on your statement date.
But it's not as simple as opening up an account and voilà, you'll get the extra points. Your account has to be “active” and “open,” which means your checking or savings account must have had a deposit or withdrawal within the past 90 days — or your investment account must have a daily balance greater than $0.
It can take up to 60 days for the relationship bonus to kick in. So if you just opened an Atmos Rewards card and you don't see the bonus points right away, don't worry.
Which Atmos Rewards Cards are Eligible for the 10% Relationship Bonus?
Alaska has two personal and one business co-branded Atmos Rewards credit cards that are eligible for the Bank of America 10% relationship bonus. While all of these cards sport excellent welcome offers, keep in mind that you'll only get the 10% bonus on points accrued through card spending and not those earned through a signup bonus.
If you have a personal checking account, you'll want to look at either the Atmos™ Rewards Ascent Visa Signature® card or the new Atmos Summit card. Think of the “summit” as the highest point on the mountain, therefore it's the credit card with the most benefits and the highest annual fee.

- Earn unlimited 2 miles for every $1 spent on eligible gas, EV charging stations, cable, streaming services and local transit (including ride share) purchases
- Earn unlimited 1 mile for every $1 spent on all other eligible purchases
The Atmos™ Rewards Visa Business Card gives you a bonus if you have a business checking account. Currently, the Atmos Rewards Business card has a Get 60,000 bonus miles and Alaska's Famous Companion Fare™ ($99 fare plus taxes and fees from $23).
- Earn 3 miles for every $1 spent on eligible Alaska Airlines purchases
- Earn 2 miles for every $1 spent on eligible gas, EV charging station, shipping and local transit (including rideshare) purchases

How to Take Maximum Advantage of the 10% Relationship Bonus
The 10% relationship bonus is all on points earned from your purchases, including those in any bonus spending categories. This can make things interesting depending on the Atmos card you hold. For instance, the earns 3 points per dollar on dining and foreign purchases. With the 10% relationship bonus, this effectively means that all of your foreign purchases will now earn 3.3 points per dollar!
No special sign up is needed to activate the 10% relationship bonus. So long as you're the proud owner of both an eligible Atmos Rewards card and an eligible Bank of America checking, savings, or investment account, you're good to go.

Bottom Line
Earning extra points for doing nothing above and beyond simply having a checking or savings account is a win in our book, and earning a 10% bonus on top of all your points earned is even sweeter. Regular purchases will earn 1.1 points per dollar and purchases in bonus categories such as Alaska Airlines purchases, dining, and even foreign transactions will net you 3.3 points per dollar, with no limit.
