It's been a busy week in the AwardWallet newsroom. We broke the news that Atmos Rewards elite members can save up to $90 on CLEAR, while also being the first to report that Uber added Zipcar bookings and that Rove debuted a new app and introduced a variety of new features, from Rove Dining to a revamped hotel platform.

Here are the other important travel updates from the week, including a targeted Hilton elite status offer, a new BlueHouse lounge opening, new airline routes, and more.

Get Hilton Diamond Through a Targeted Offer

According to reports on Reddit, select American Express Platinum Card® holders are getting a targeted Hilton Diamond status offer in their inboxes. Register by September 7, 2026, to earn Hilton Diamond for 90 days. Complete 10 qualifying nights booked directly with Hilton during the trial period, and you can keep your status through March 31, 2028.

Unfortunately, I wasn't targeted for this promotion, even though I've activated my Hilton Honors Gold status through my Platinum Card®. If you were targeted, this is a promotion to consider. Hilton Diamond typically requires 50 nights, so if you were already planning on traveling over the next few months, this is an easy way to earn status through the beginning of 2028.

JetBlue Opens BlueHouse Lounge in Boston

JetBlue opened a new BlueHouse lounge in Boston. This is only the second BlueHouse lounge available, so it's a pretty exciting development. The 12,000-square-foot lounge opened on August 27 and is located across from gate C25 in Terminal C. It offers travelers a variety of hot food options, plus alcoholic beverages ranging from New England craft beers to cocktails designed by local mixologists.

It's spacious enough to offer multiple rooms where you can work, relax, snack, or rest before your flight. As with many lounges today, the design and artwork are heavily inspired by Boston culture. If you want to visit, you'll need to either hold Mosaic 4 elite status, the JetBlue Premier Card, or fly in Mint business class. You can also purchase a day pass from $59 to $79 per person depending on your elite status.

American Airlines Switches up Flagship First Dining

American Airlines announced it will expand its Flagship First Dining to give more customers access to it. Historically, only Flagship First customers could access Flagship First Dining, and American Airlines is phasing out its Flagship First product. So, it had to make some changes to keep this product relevant.

Starting September 15, anyone traveling in Flagship Business (including Flagship Business Plus) on long-haul international, transcontinental, and Hawaii Flagship routes will have access to Flagship Dining. Currently, you can access Flagship Dining in Dallas (DFW) and Miami (MIA), but the airline has plans to reopen its Los Angeles (LAX) location later this year.

American will launch a refreshed four-course menu and an exclusive wine and chocolate pairing. Only time will tell how this updated access policy will work in person. There will be substantially more people with access, so we imagine wait times will get increasingly long.

American and United Airlines Launch New Routes

American Airlines has announced seven new routes starting in summer 2027:

  • Charlotte (CLT) to Barcelona (BCN) beginning May 27
  • Chicago (ORD) to Tokyo (NRT) beginning March 19
  • New York (JFK) to Amsterdam (AMS) beginning March 28
  • New York (JFK) to London (LHR) fourth daily flight begins March 28
  • New York (JFK) to Nice (NCE) beginning May 6
  • Philadelphia (PHL) to Porto (OPO) beginning March 28
  • Philadelphia (PHL) to Reykjavik (KEF) beginning May 27
  • Philadelphia (PHL) to Vienna (VIE) beginning May 6

Porto and Vienna are entirely new destinations for American Airlines, and the carrier will be the only U.S. airline to serve Vienna. American hasn't operated routes to Reykjavik since 2019, so these are great new developments.

United also announced a slew of new routes launching in 2027, including the following destinations:

  • Okinawa, Japan (OKA)
  • Olbia, Italy (OLB)
  • Terceira, Portugal (TER)
  • Toulouse, France (TLS)
  • Valencia, Spain (VLC)
  • Luxembourg City, Luxembourg (LUX)
  • Catania, Italy (CTA)
  • Ibiza, Spain (IBZ)
  • Ljubljana, Slovenia (LJU)
  • Marseille, France (MRS)

It's great to see major U.S. carriers serving some secondary markets, so travelers don't need to connect to reach their final destination.

Tip of The Day
Did you know that we display your elite status progress within the list of accounts? Each block in this progress bar represents an elite level. If you mouse over any of the blocks, it will show you the name of that elite level. Clicking it will open the account details on the 'Elite Levels' tab. This will show you exactly where you are regarding your elite status and what you need to do to reach the next level.
