Just over a year ago, Air Canada and airBaltic announced a strategic codeshare partnership, offering increased connectivity throughout Europe for frequent Air Canada flyers. Now, Aeroplan members can redeem points for airBaltic flights. This is a redeem-only partnership, so you still won't be able to earn Aeroplan points on airBaltic flights. However, more ways to use your points and miles are always helpful — especially if you're heading to Europe in 2026.
Here's everything you need to know about the redemption partnership between Air Canada and airBaltic.

What is airBaltic and Where Does It Fly?
Unless you've traveled throughout Europe, you might not have flown Latvian-based airBaltic. However, as you can see from the route map below, airBaltic offers some impressive connectivity throughout Europe, and also flies routes to Dubai and to select cities in northern Africa.

airBaltic is somewhat unique in that its entire fleet consists of a single aircraft model: the Airbus A220-300. It's a single-aisle aircraft in a 2-3 configuration, offering roughly 148 seats. The airline offers business class, though that solely consists of a blocked seat.
You Can Now Redeem Aeroplan Points for airBaltic Flights
If you're interested in a European flight with airBaltic, you can now use your Air Canada Aeroplan points to complete your booking. Air Canada uses a fixed award chart based on zones and distance flown. You should be able to use Air Canada's award chart for flights within the Atlantic zone to estimate how many points you'll need for an airBaltic booking.

Flights are already available for booking. For instance, a flight from Riga (RIX) to Lisbon (LIS) with a layover in Berlin (BER) would cost 12,500 Air Canada Aeroplan points one-way in economy, or 25,000 points in business.

Or, you can book a non-stop flight from Riga (RIX) to Dubai (DXB) for just 25,000 points in economy or 45,000 points in business — not terrible for an almost seven-hour flight.
