Bilt Rewards just announced a new partnership with hotel award-searching tool Awayz. Starting today (September 14, 2023), Bilt members can now perform up to 50 hotel award searches per calendar month for free through the Bilt App. All Bilt members need to do is update their app to see this newest feature.
Here's how this new tool works and how this integration can be a big time saver when searching for award stays.
Awayz Hotel Award Search Tool
When it comes to searching for paid flights, most travelers have a one-stop search tool (e.g. Google Flights). To search for award flights, travelers can now use Point.Me, PointYeah, or Roame.Travel — all of which consolidate award search results from several airlines in one spot. But, there's been a gap in tools for searching hotel award availability.
If you only have one type of hotel points — say Marriott Bonvoy points — it's easy enough to head to the hotel's website to search for award stays. However, what if you have multiple types of hotel points? Or what if you're following our advice and earning transferrable rewards points instead? You'd need to check several hotel rewards programs and compare award prices. Plus, you need to remember which transferrable points can transfer to which hotel programs. Enter Awayz. Awazy searches each hotel's website and consolidates the results on one page for you to compare.
Awayz Premium currently costs $11.99 per month or $99.99 per year. However, Bilt Rewards members can now complete a limited number of award searches for free through the Bilt App.
Bilt's Partnership With Awayz
Starting today, Bilt Rewards members can complete up to 50 hotel award searches per calendar month through the Bilt Rewards app. To start your hotel award search, click on the Travel tab in the Bilt app, select the Hotels category, and select the Transfer Partners option.
Enter your destination, check-in and check-out dates, and click search. The app will show award search results for both of Bilt's hotel partners.
Bilt Rewards points transfer 1:1 to both World of Hyatt and IHG One Rewards. That means the prices you see will reflect the number of Bilt points you'd need to transfer to the hotel program — or redeem if you already have Hyatt or IHG points. If you need to transfer points, the app conveniently includes a “transfer points” option.
If your dates are flexible, you can use the calendar option to review prices over the next few months.
After you exhaust your 50 free award searches, you'll need to subscribe to Awayz Premium — or wait until the month resets — to continue using this tool.
Bilt only has two transfer partners. So, for now, this Awayz tool only saves you from having to check two hotel program websites. But it's nice to be able to complete this search inside the Bilt app. Plus, this tool will become more and more valuable as Bilt inevitably adds more hotel partners.
Bottom Line
Bilt started as just a way to earn points paying rent with no fees. However, Bilt Rewards is on a roll with adding new features and partnerships — from earning Bilt points on Lyft rides to the recently launched Bilt Dining program. Thanks to Bilt's partnership with Point.Me, Bilt members can complete award flight searches right in the Bilt app. Now, with this new Awayz partnership, Bilt members have a similar tool for searching hotel awards right in the Bilt app.
