When Bilt originally announced points transfers to Alaska Airlines back on March 15, 2024, we were excited. However, the announcement also included some “coming in the future” elements. Well, the future is today. Along with transferring your Bilt points to Mileage Plan, there's good news for those with an Alaska Airlines Visa, as they can now earn bonus miles on food, rent, rides, and more.

Transfer Bilt Points to Alaska Airlines
As of March 15, 2024, Bilt Rewards points can be transferred to Alaska Mileage Plan at a 1:1 ratio — just like with Bilt's other transfer partners. If this new partnership is anything like what we've come to expect, transfers should happen immediately.
Bilt had 16 transfer partners before this announcement. Adding another transfer partner makes for 17, but that's only the case for a short time. The addition of Alaska Mileage Plan as a Bilt transfer partner comes on the heels of news that transfers to American Airlines will end in June (specific date unknown). Thus, Bilt will have 17 transfer partners for a couple of months, but the total will drop in June 2024.

Why This Is a Big Deal
Bilt points already transfer to several Oneworld airlines, including British Airways, Cathay Pacific, and Iberia. So, Alaska Airlines may seem like just another option. However, savvy readers will realize a key distinction: Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan lacks transfer partners from other points programs.
Other than a handful of hotel points programs, Bilt will now be the sole flexible rewards transfer option to Alaska Mileage Plan. You can't transfer points from Amex or Chase to Alaska Airlines, for example.
Although Alaska's award chart changes are less than exciting, Mileage Plan has some unique partners that make for great redemptions. There will still be several quality Mileage Plan sweet spots available for travelers to book. And the ability to transfer points from Bilt to Alaska Airlines provides another option for earning these valuable miles — beyond just the Alaska Airlines Visa® Business card and Alaska Airlines Visa Signature® credit card.
Going forward, The Bilt Mastercard® provides another viable path to earning Alaska Airlines miles.
- 3x points on dining
- 2x points on travel
- 1x points on rent payments without the transaction fee (up to 100,000 points each calendar year)
- 1x points on other purchases

Now Live: Bonus Earnings via Bilt With the Alaska Visa Card
Beyond just transferring points, the Bilt partnership with Alaska Airlines goes deeper. This function is now live, though it was slated for “later this year” when the partnership was originally announced in March.
Those with the Alaska Visa Card can earn bonus miles on their card for rent payments, Lyft rides, Bilt Dining, and through Bilt's fitness partnerships. Cardholders also can earn 3X miles on the first $50,000 of rent spending annually.
It's worth noting, however, that there's a 3% fee for paying your rent through Bilt Rewards using a third-party credit card. A spokesperson for Bilt has confirmed that this fee will not be waived for the Alaska Airlines partnership.

Alaska Visa cardholders must be enrolled in Bilt Rewards to take advantage of this partnership, which you can learn about here. For full details, see the terms on earnings for Alaska Visa cardholders. It's also worth stating clearly that this partnership only applies to Alaska's personal credit card, not the Alaska Airlines Visa® Business card.
Our Take
Points and miles collectors likely perked up at this headline, knowing how difficult it can be to amass Alaska Airlines miles for award redemptions. Now, you'll be able to transfer Bilt points to Mileage Plan, and that's sure to soften some of the blow after losing transfers to AAdvantage®. Gone are the days when you couldn't move flexible rewards points to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan.
