Marriott and Starbucks have teamed up to offer reciprocal
The current offer awards linked members 500 Marriott Bonvoy® bonus points after three qualifying Starbucks transactions of at least $2 each through September 27, 2026.
Here’s a quick recap of what the partnership includes, how to earn bonus rewards during this Marriott Bonvoy Week, and whether it ever makes sense to convert Marriott Bonvoy® points to Starbucks Stars.
Link Your Marriott Bonvoy and Starbucks Accounts to Earn Reciprocal Rewards
The Marriott-Starbucks partnership offers an easy way to earn Starbucks Stars while you travel and gives you another avenue to earn rewards on your daily coffee. To earn reciprocal rewards, the first step is to link your Marriott and Starbucks accounts.
If you don’t have an account with either program, both are free to join. Once you’re enrolled, sign in to your Starbucks Rewards account and add your Marriott Bonvoy number to link the two.
After that, you’re ready to earn. Here’s what Starbucks and Marriott currently offer:
- Starbucks: Linked members can earn double Stars on qualifying Starbucks transactions during eligible stays at hotels participating in Marriott Bonvoy. Stays at Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy and The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection are excluded.
- Marriott: During designated Marriott Bonvoy Weeks, linked members can earn bonus Marriott Bonvoy points after completing three qualifying Starbucks transactions. The current offer awards 500 points.
Earn Bonus Points During Marriott Bonvoy Week
About once a month, members who link their accounts get access to a special Marriott Bonvoy Week. The current offer runs from September 21–27, 2026. During this period, linked members can earn 500 Marriott Bonvoy points after completing three qualifying Starbucks transactions.
Each transaction must total at least $2 and include eligible food, beverages, or merchandise. Alcoholic beverages, Starbucks Card eGifts, and physical Starbucks gift cards do not qualify. Members must order through the Starbucks app or website using a linked payment method or preloaded Starbucks Card registered to their Starbucks Rewards account, or scan their Starbucks Rewards barcode before checkout.
Transactions must be completed at a participating U.S. Starbucks location where members can earn Stars. This includes qualifying locations in the 50 states, Washington, D.C., and U.S. territories.
Members can earn the 500-point bonus once during this Marriott Bonvoy Week. Points should post within two business days after the week concludes.
The 500-point bonus won’t get you far toward a Marriott award night. On average, AwardWallet users redeem Bonvoy points for 0.93¢ apiece, making the bonus worth a little more than $5.
Not a huge windfall, but worth picking up if you’re already headed to Starbucks.

Marriott Bonvoy Point Transfers to Starbucks
As AwardWallet first caught in mid-September 2024, Marriott introduced point transfers to Starbucks. Thanks to this, you can transfer Bonvoy points to Starbucks Stars at a 10:1 ratio — 1,000 points become 100 Stars.
Members can transfer a minimum of 1,000 points and up to 50,000 points per day in 10-point increments to the linked Starbucks Rewards account. To initiate a transfer, click here. Stars should post within one to two business days. Once initiated, transfers cannot be canceled or reversed.
Should you transfer Marriott points to Starbucks?
In most cases, transfers don’t offer compelling value. One thousand Marriott points will get you 100 Stars, and most 100-Star redemptions cost less out of pocket than the value of the Marriott points you’d give up.
You’re generally better off saving your Marriott points for free nights or transferring Bonvoy points to dozens of airlines. A transfer to Starbucks might make sense if you need a small number of Stars for a specific redemption, but it generally offers poor value compared with other Bonvoy redemption options.
Other Ways to Earn More Marriott Points
There are several ways to earn Marriott points — many of which are more lucrative than participating in Marriott Bonvoy Week. Outside of earning points on paid stays, you can stock up by buying Marriott points outright, multiplying the points earned on a recent stay, or transferring them from partner programs.
The best way, though, is by earning a welcome bonus on a Marriott credit card. There are several Marriott cards available, so you’re spoiled for choice here.

Final Thoughts
The Marriott-Starbucks partnership isn’t the most lucrative reciprocal rewards program out there, but it’s still an easy way to earn a little extra. Linked members can earn double Stars on qualifying Starbucks purchases during eligible Marriott stays and 500 bonus Marriott Bonvoy points during the current Marriott Bonvoy Week, which runs through September 27, 2026.
