In 2022, Delta added Turo as another car rental partner. Since then, new members have been able to receive bonus miles when linking accounts and completing one Turo rental. If you've never rented from Turo, you can join now, link your accounts, and get 2,000 SkyMiles, plus 500 bonus miles on subsequent rentals. Here are the details.
Delta Car Rental Partnerships
In 2022, Delta Air Lines partnered with Turo as a second car rental partnership after its first, ongoing partnership with Hertz. Nowadays, Delta partners with 13 car rental companies.
Delta and Hertz partnership
Formerly, when SkyMiles members rented from Hertz, Delta Silver and Gold Medallion members earned 1,300 SkyMiles per rental (1,000 base miles and 300 bonus miles); Platinum and Diamond Medallion members received 1,550 SkyMiles per rental (1,250 base miles and 300 bonus miles).
More recently, Delta changed the rewards structure for Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond members to earn 5, 6, 7, or 8 miles per dollar spent, respectively. Additionally, Delta Gold Medallion members receive complimentary Five Star status in the Hertz Gold Plus Rewards program. Meanwhile, Delta Platinum and Diamond Medallion members receive President's Circle status with Hertz.

Delta and Turo Partnership
Turo isn't the same as Hertz (or any other rental car company), as you rent your cars from private owners, rather than corporately owned cars. Think of Turo like Airbnb for cars.
With the spike in car rental prices and limited vehicles, Turo is an excellent alternative. Turo can often be cheaper than a traditional rental car agency — especially for young drivers.
Turo has vehicles in thousands of cities across the U.S., Canada, the U.K., France, and Australia, and some rentals cost as little as $25 a day. The fleet boasts over 1,000 vehicle models, including Teslas!
The Delta and Turo partnership is a great opportunity for Delta members who have had difficulty making reservations with Hertz or other car rental companies — or even those just looking for something different than waiting in line for a rental car at the airport.
2,000 Bonus Points Promotion
Under the Delta and Turo partnership, new Turo members receive 2,000 bonus SkyMiles after linking their Delta SkyMiles account to Turo and completing their first rental. This bonus is only for members who have never rented with Turo before.
After your first Turo rental, you will earn 500 SkyMiles for each subsequent rental. This also applies to existing Turo members with previous rental activity. This might not be as many bonus miles as you'll earn with other Delta car rental partners. However, it's better than nothing.
For reference, AwardWallet users typically redeem Delta SkyMiles at 1.34¢ each. Thus, 500 SkyMiles per rental is worth less than $7. The 2,000 bonus Skymiles from the new member bonus is worth over $26.
Considering this promotion has been around since 2022, we can assume it's here to stay.
Our Take
While other Delta car rental partners might offer more bonus miles, this is still a great promotion. Turo might be a better fit for your next rental, and it's nice to know that you can get some SkyMiles on your first and subsequent rentals.
