Chase has even more targeted promotions available, offering bonus points and cash back for spending on co-branded credit cards. This time, Chase is offering up to 10X total points on gas stations, groceries, and Amazon.com made between October 1 and December 31, 2023. Plus, there's a targeted offer for specific cardholders to receive a $15 statement credit after spending $150 on eligible categories, or a $25 statement credit when spending $99 on HBO Max.
For these offers, cards generally earn 5X total points at gas stations, grocery stores, and Amazon.com. As usual, some credit cards are offering better deals than others. The IHG One Rewards Premier Credit Card offers 7X total points at gas stations on top of its 5X on groceries and Amazon.com. Also, all Avios-earning cards and Southwest cards earn 10X total points in all three bonus categories this quarter. There is a cap of $1,000 in spending at the bonus rate for each card, down from $1,500 in previous quarters.
Note that some cardholders are targeted for offers while others with the same card won't be targeted. You'll have to check each card to see if you qualify for the promotion. Simply go to the promotion page of the respective card and put in your name, the last four digits of your card number, and your zip code. If you have a Chase co-branded card, here's how to check if you're targeted for a bonus points offer.

Spend $100 or $150 for a $15 Statement Credit
It looks like a new targeted offer is circulating for specific Chase co-branded cardholders. All that's required for this one is to activate the offer with this link or this link and then spend in specific categories by January 15, 2024. You will receive a $15 statement credit; one offer provides this after $100 of spending while another requires $150 of spending.
Eligible categories are fitness club and gym memberships, utilities, internet, cable, and phone services, insurance, and local transit and commuting (excluding airline purchases). The statement credit should post to member accounts within 8 weeks of meeting the spending threshold.
It's worth checking all of your Chase credit cards, as we haven't detected a clear pattern to which cardholders are and aren't eligible.
$25 or $35 Statement Credit When Spending $99 on HBO Max
Another interesting offer circulating is a $25 or $35 statement credit after spending $99 on HBO Max before September 30, 2024. Existing customers must link their Chase card to their HBO Max account before making purchases. New HBO Max customers can sign up for their plan and spend $99 before September 30, 2024. It's assumed that the membership cost is included in the spending requirement. This offer has shown up on several co-branded Chase cards, so check your offers to see if you you've been selected, assuming you're interested in HBO Max.
Some members receive an offer for $25 back; others receive an offer for $35 back. Ensure you read the terms clearly if your card is eligible.
Chase Co-Branded Credit Card Spending Promotions
Chase has offered co-branded credit card bonus points promotions each quarter for several years now. In previous offers, some cards had different spending categories. This round sees the same categories for all cards. However, some cards have a slightly higher earning rate.
The promotions this quarter seem to generally offer 5X total points at gas stations, grocery stores, and Amazon.com. There is a chance your card might only be targeted for one or two of those categories. While most offers seem to only be for 5X, some readers have reported getting offers for:
- 10X total Avios at gas stations, Amazon.com, and groceries with Avios-earning and Southwest cards.
- 7X at gas stations plus 5X on groceries and Amazon.com with the IHG One Rewards Premier Credit Card
Previously, there was a cap of $1,500 in spending at the bonus rate for each card. This quarter, these cards have a cap of $1,000 in spending.
As with previous promotions, some members are alternatively seeing a lump points bonus after reaching a spending threshold. These aren't usually the best offers — such as 5,000 bonus points after spending $5,000.
Note that some cardholders are targeted for offers while others with the same card won't be targeted. You'll have to check each card to see if any qualify for a promotion. Simply go to your offers page and put in your name, the last four digits of your card number, and your zip code.

Our Take
If you didn't receive an email targeting you for any of these promotions, you still should check your offers page using the information for each of your cards.
Note that these offers are specifically for co-branded Chase cards. If you have the Chase Freedom Flex℠ or Chase Freedom®, check out our separate article for this quarter's promotion on those cards. Additionally, check here for a roundup of all cards with rotating bonus categories.
You may have a Chase card (or several) that qualifies for a bonus points promotion. Some people have had more than one card accepted, while others have seen the same cards turned down. Quite a few people are reporting they aren't targeted this time around, but it's worth checking anyway. You can try to enroll all of your cards and then use whichever provides the best offer for your upcoming spending.
Do you have a Chase co-branded credit card that is eligible for any of the bonus points promotions?

I got 3 rocks! None of my Chase cards are eligible/ targeted.
Pat-I’ve found that trying repeatedly can lead to an automatic error, even if a card might be targeted. Try 2 offers, switch to a different browser, restart… But when I try 4 or more in a row, I see the link go to an automatic error page. Hope this helps.
Did not get the email, but turns out this time my United Gateway Visa targeted 5X gas stations, grocery stores, restaurants up to 1,500 spend July 1 – September 30, 2023. Thank you AwardWallet!
Glad to help!
My United Gateway Visa was not targeted this time. But it was targeted last summer for the 5X (or maybe it was 4X) points on gas stations, which I took advantage of.
I have really used this card for only one charge since then, which was at United’s “invite only” restaurant in Newark, and then because UA offered a 20% discount for using their cobranded card.
I didn’t get this offer and I’ve been flying so much that I hit 5 airports in less than 3 months.
I wasn’t targeted for any. 😅
oh I have gotten this for my united card. I am considering participating in the promo but I have been focusing on amex right now. I will have to weigh what I need vs how much time I have to build all my points.
Those offers are not available on my United Explorer Mileage Plus card. Maybe targeted?
Unfortunately yes, these are typically targeted. I’d still recommend enrolling through the generic Chase My Bonus link to see if you might have another offer we aren’t aware of: https://www.chase.com/mybonus
I think that if you have never used that specific CC ever, say for gas, then you get an offer. I have offers on all my CCs listed, but all of them have no balance. So that may be another qualifier. For people who have no balance, Chase may be trying to incentivize one to use that CC.
Please note
the United Presidential Plus and the Marriott Bonvoy Bold does NOT work for this promo
These two cards are specifically listed as eligible in the terms and conditions on these two pages:
https://www.chase.com/mybonus/hggunited3
https://www.chase.com/mybonus/hggmarriott1
However, not all cardholders seem to be targeted
Not targeted 🙁
Aw. I wasn’t targeted for any. Oh well. I hope that Chase will bring in more transferring bonuses.
For some reason the sign up pages did not work for my IHG or Marriott cards.
I’ve seen others post that the generic sign-up pulls up the old offers sometimes, but the dedicated links should get you to the new sign-up pages.
Well, I got the messages that my United Gateway card is not eligible for either this promotion or the recent 5X promotion. But there are always my Chase Ultimate Rewards cards and Amex Membership Rewards cards with their everyday multi-points spend categories.
Thanks much for providing the individual links. I was able to sign up for the United and Marriott cards using the links.
Something is wrong with the links or with Chase. My Chase cards are all on the list above. However, for two of the cards, it keeps telling me I’ve entered an invalid CVC. For the last card, it recognized everything and then told me the card does not qualify. Does anyone know what is going on with this?
Hmm, the first issue may be a bug. I’ve had that happen before and later realized it was because they had mailed me a replacement card with a new CVV. As far as 2nd issue, this is targeted (we don’t know the criteria) so it’s possible that you have the card, but aren’t eligible for the offer.
Eligible across a number of these cards but probably won’t be able to take full advantage. I wonder what qualifies as “travel”?
It looks like Chase is making it more attractive to use their cards for travel and gas. Thanks for the great summary and registration links.
Is there an algorithm that determines the targeted audience? I don’t know what I’m doing “wrong”, but I never seem to be alerted/targeted for promotions like this.
Thankfully, you guys are on top of it and I was able to use the link above to register. So grateful for this knowledge-sharing community so no one has to miss out on opportunities to maximize returns.
Wish we knew how they targeted. Regardless, we’re working on new and improved ways to track promos and alert our members who might qualify.
Just got 5X/5% on my IHG/Amazon cards. Nothing on my British Airways card, which is where I wish there was something. I’ll try again next month, who knows? It’s fun when there is a bonus.
Seems like a big push from Chase to capture travel bookings.
My thought, too. I’m sure some Chase cardholder will jump on these.
